Have you tried using an accelerator?

I think the teleporters keep your momentum in halo reach like they did in halo 3.

    Part 1:
Place a sender node on its side near the ocean, then place a receiver node high above it. Jump into the bottom teleporter to see which direction your momentum is when you leave the receiver node, then orient the receiver so your momentum will be down. Now drop into the sender and wait. You should start moving really fast.

    Part 2:
Place a receiver node floating somewhere on channel 2 and set the old sender to channel 2. Drop into the sender, and remember which direction you new momentum is. Now move the receiver so it is in the direction you want to go. Return the sender to channel 1.

    Part 3:
With a friend forging with you, jump into the sender node and wait for the desired velocity. Now have the friend edit the sender node to channel 2. It should send you flying out of the map.

    Tips:
To increase distance, place the second receiver to fire you at a slight upwards angle in the direction you want to go.
Increase the area of the sender node to make a bigger target
If sometimes you fall through the sender without being teleported, increase it's depth so you spend more of your falling time in the teleporter.

this thread is awesome and totaly deserves a bump =)

just think, you could give way to a whole new definition of map. Or a generation. Or something. I dont know...

but yeah, thanks for your hard work =)

also, I wanna remind you of what someone mentioned earlier, as I didn't see you reply to it. Did you try placing forged safe zones? I dont think they work in forge, but if you could place one and put a spawn zone inside it might work for custom games.

User-placed kill zones override user-placed safe zones when they intersect. I highly doubt that a user-placed safe zone could ever override a hard-coded kill zone. Even Bungie can't mess up that bad.

This is really cool, make sure you put a map on your fileshare so we can download it. And no safe zones don't over-ride kill zones, especially not out of map kill zones placed by Bungie.

Just because this is kinda relevant and involves breaking the map... have you tried to go THROUGH bungie's existing geometry?

I was pissing about in forge on some guys map, and we were all betraying each other (As you do) I set a block to phased and pushed it on top of two guys in the arena.. instead of it killing them... it pushed them under the arena. You can't do this to yourself though as you die but they survive and can fly around underneath the surface of the map.

The only way to get back out is to do the same tactic, except use it as a lift to pull the players back out. Obviously though, this requires 2 people to do... but it might be a way to get outside the map boundaries as you're technically no longer IN the map?

EDIT: Safe zone 1 has been found by korn, the original finder of the out of map trick on bungie.net

It's a tiny, tiny little safe zone and is only barely pass the border but it's better than nothing I guess.. if you do the trick to get past the invisible barrier with the teleporter, if you do it where the rocks in the sea are, the safe zone is halfway between the invisible barrier and the rocks.

The area is big enough for a map, so there you go folks, we have at least 1 good thing coming out of this, we can build maps further out into the ocean now. :)[/QUOTE]

think we could get a post of like a map with a tele to this place?

Alright, I do not think there is any way you can get past these lame death barriers dude. I've tried so many times. Every time you get a teleporter way out past the elastic border and save, they just end up to a certain barrier that makes it so structuring way out there is impossible. Although everything out there DOES actually have collision, we still aren't able to survive out there for more than 10 seconds let alone build something out there.

I posted a thread about this a while ago with pictures and a video of getting to that enormous flat land area way out there and actually driving around on it... until I exploded haha. But that's pretty much the extent on what you can do out there. Linky
