MIDSPHERE Forgeworld:Slayer:MLG/Competative:2-6 best Midpshere: Tangent to every edge of the polyhedron Now while my map Midsphere is not a perfect 'midsphere', the name does fit. Originally this map was going to be a remake of Octagon. But I wanted to go above and beyond that. I was going to make it have as many sides as possible That got hard. I was at 16 sides (2-D) and looked back at the map. I realised, I could have a ceiling on the map. After making that, I realised I could make a floor too. After finishing that, I put a flat top+bottom, making this shape have a total of 50 faces. Then I cut the sphere in half, with a grid, cause playing on ramped floor would be lame. I wondered, what to name it. Sphere? Ball? Pentablablabla? No. Midsphere. So Midsphere. Midpshere is a competative/MLG map that was inspired by the popular forged map from Halo3, Octagon. Midsphere serves essentially the same purpose. For those that dont know, Octagon was a "warp up" map used by many competative players to warm up their BR/Sniper, or face off 1v1. A lot of people liked it. I hope the same for Midsphere. Midpshere can be played with many slayer variants, but it is best played with MLG, or Midsphere slayer (which is linked). you probably should have posted this in competitive maps just because of the outragesly numbered gametypes you can play on this, i like the floating grid.great idea, haha.and i used the floating word for my new map too! haha.but overall great evolve from the octagon of foundry!
DMR/BR Arena maps are actually better when they have slanted surfaces because it makes you look along the x-axis AND the y-axis rather than just the x-axis like octagon where you never have to look up or down the whole game unless the other kid jumps.
True yeah. But on a lot of maps you encounter pretty close to even-floor DMR fights. So while making slants and even some cover would help, there is a reason Octagon was so popular in Halo3. And I coulda posted it in Competative. Oh well. Thanks for the comments
