Thanks for checking out Cerebrum! Cerebrum consists of a giant sphere. Gameplay is designed to take place in the interior of the sphere. The gametype, "Locust" begins with the humans positioned on a walkway that circles the entire lining of the the sphere. The number of zombies should be set to at least 1/3 of the party size. Look out though! They spawn in a room far above the interior of the sphere and rain down through the hole! Zombies have 50% gravity with unlimited jetpack so beware! Luckily you are provided with 4 Shade turrets to fend off the infestation as well as some small arms. Be careful, though because the beginning loadouts are not suitable for taking on a number of zombies at a time on your own. Live together or die alone! A further caution: Zombies spawn in a room below the sphere as well, so stay on your toes, humans! They can be anywhere! I hope all of you enjoy Cerebrum! I had fun making it! Leave a comment if you want me to post a canvas version with nothing in the interior! Enjoy!
looks very similar to the attack on Zion in the Matrix revolutions. Looks good and I'll be trying it out
very pretty map, however, if the zombies are only coming out of 2 holes the game turns into a blood bath for certain party sizes
I made the loadouts consist of very short range weapons with limited ammo as to encourage less "hole-camping" as well as to encourage the use of the Shade turrets for long range target acquisition.
Wow, looks great! The first 3 pictures are epic, but the last one just seems... messy. Could you get pictures of the outside/zombie spawns/the walkway around the interior of the sphere..? But otherwise, GREAT idea... reminds me a lot of the Matrix. I personally think you should have based it off the Matrix more, but it's still good as it is.
Well see, I had to get creative in stretching the budget, so I wasn't necessarily able to use the ideal objects for the bottom portion. It's the nature of the beast, in fact I think there's only $30 left of the budget. But yeah, I'll post some more pics soon!
The guass is way to overpowered, especially since the gravity hammer is more hammer then gravity and Reach. You should add a spiral staircase from the bottom to the human level. I noticed that once the humans got down there they were stuck. However, if they got a vehicle down there, they could survive the fall. Put some shield doors at the top of the hole. Id love to see some improvements in this so I can have an even better version.
I never intended for humans to survive down there with ease. Reach's kill zone areas are freaking stupid which didn't allow me to prohibit those areas from human use only. The Gauss is overpowered if used with a party that is too small.
Epic. I'm a little surprised at the posts i've read on your map. This is probably the best forging of any map Ive seen from Reach so far. Amazing idea and game. My only suggestion is to add a dmr or 2 just for kicks. Also if the zombies had a nade or two it might make it more of a risk reward on the hogs or shade turrets. excellent job Feature Worthy by far!!!! MRX
Overall, a great map. The first thing that I noticed was that it's visually stunning; the dome almost looks like it has giant speakers lining it. But what really makes this map/game great is its originality; the gametype you included is ridiculously fun. I'll call it a 9/10 because of some of the merged objects are flashing and there happen to be a few bumps/rough edges here and there, but those types of things are pretty much unavoidable when you make a map like this. I mean, seriously, a sphere? Aweseome! The gameplay more than makes up for any tiny flaws. Excellent job.
I think that that is a very fair score. Thanks everyone for checking out the map and giving constructive feedback! Perhaps I'll make a V2 with either a different set of vehicles, to make the game more balanced or a simple Cerebrum canvas.
Strange. Are you using the correct gametype? I haven't heard of this problem happening to anyone else but, nevertheless, I'll check out the issue next time I'm online.
This map was made only a week after Reach came out! That pretty impressive considering that the gameplay is both unique and fun. And sure it could've had a few tweaks that would have made it perfect. But that doesn't stop us, hope you enjoy the video! "Cerebrum" [HD] - Halo Reach Forge Maps (THFE) - (Ep.41) - YouTube
People were probably more used to halo 3 forging and didnt care too much about aesthetics. Gameplay's all that matters
