So I decided to make a remake of one of my favorite Halo 2 zombies map, Foundation. I only wish that at this point it was an original idea. The good news is that my remake is pretty darn good. It still needs some testing, and as I am pretty new around here, I was looking for some input. It's a little long in comparison to the original, so there are some very little additions to the the actual game mechanics; however, this map looks pretty cool. Rather than do the normal 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the huge walls marking the rooms, I decided to go a little more original. Think a sort of Fire, Air, Earth, and...purple (you couldn't really notice the blue for water). ********************************************************************* The latest (updated) version is now up in my File share and updated in this thread. You can still get to the old one, but it doesnt support the objective gametypes. I added the ledges in one of the rooms, but not all. It's a fun idea, but ultimately it doesn't really affect the map enough to warrant more attention. As far as the LoS goes, I haven't changed anything just yet. I need some more testing before I decide I want to change the map's dynamics. If you download the map and like it please recommend the map to your friends and "like" it on bungie.net If you dont like it, please tell me (in a constructive way), and I will try to fix the problems as best I can. I want this map to be as good as it deserves to be, so please let me know if something is bugging you. Check it out and let me know what you guys think. Thanks! ******************************************************************* Fun Stuff! Weapons: 2 DMR (I would add more, but I figure DMR starts are going to be popular) 2 Needler 2 Shotgun 2 Rocket Launcher (with only two shots each) 1 Sword Various Grenades (though not an overdose) Easter Eggs: Face in the "rock" room. Ledges in the Window (more of a throwback than an easter egg) On Infection(and only on Infection), it's night!
You could have put the Waterfall in "purple"(I like that concept BTW). It is a little big and open, but should be alright for oldschool zombies, though I would put something in that middle, give it some subsistence and block some LoS, which was always my problem with Foundation.
From the looks of the pictures, it looks like a almost exact replica. I especially like the rocks in the center where they were in the original map. If you need help with objective placement and stuff, I can help. I just got done setting up my map Torsion for every conceivable gametype. (except Invasion, infection, and race) I'm setting my xbox to download now, so I can check it out after I get done cooking and eating dinner.
oh man i am going to play some mad infection tonight lol but 1 thing i thought id might recommend is maybe some cover in the rooms boxes maybe and also in halo 2 i vaguely remember one of the room u can break the barrier and get ontop somewhere so its mad hard for the zombies to get u i definitely recommend adding that lol
There's a pretty special room involved with the "rock" side, but I'll leave it a surprise for when you get to play the map. I'll work on some fixes including some ways of working on the LoS without changing too much. I like the lanes from the original, but because this version is slightly longer I'm going to have to make something different. Look for an update here soon. Also, where's the oddball/how do I set that up?
To add the Oddball to the game. You have to change the Game Type from Basic Editing to Oddball. Then go into forge mode. Choose Objectives, then the one that the oddball spawns on. Choose where you want it. then before finishing, hit x on the object, goto advanced, go down to label and change it to oddball_ball
I've been working on the objectives. It was pretty easy once I figured it out. How do I update this thread with the new map once it's ready?

Sorry but no significant updates can/will be made in the next two weeks. (until I get paid) My xbox, as old as she is, was able to read disks up until last night. I have tried disk drive cleaners and compressed air, but it sounds (or lake there of) like it's mechanical. If you have suggestions please pm me. In the mean time you can continue to play/test the map and give me suggestions, so when I get my new xbox I'll be ready to make things happen. (I'm new here. If this post is in any way spam/bumping please delete it and let me know. I just wanted to give an update)
Hey, I love this remake. It's so accurate. But could you please make one version without the purple effects? Thanks in advance.
Yes, I'll put one out without purple. This weekend I'm probably getting another 360, so it's possible that I'll work on it. What do you suggest I use instead of purple? I didn't like the blue, but I could give it another chance. It wasn't quite noticeable and I want my map to have easy call outs, "rock", "window", "red", and blue just didnt stand out enough. Also, I have to ask, did you have a chance to play zombies, or anything with hologram? Both play really well on this map, especially hologram with the explosive scenery. Very satisfying to trick even veteran players.
I was wondering if you could make a version without any effects at all. They really bug me and kind of make my eyes hurt, and I'm sure a lot of people will agree.
By effects do you mean lights? The only "effect" I have is purple (to simulate night time) for zombies, other than that I have red and purple lights. Let me know what's annoying and I'll work out a solution. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.
Yes, it's only to simulate night time for infection. If for some reason it plays in other modes please let me know. It's sort of an easter egg, but if you go into "Basic Editing" it'll be there too. If you want to remove it, the effect ball is located outside the wall between rock and purple.
Alright, thanks for clearing that up for me. I only looked at the map in Basic Editing Forge so I thought the Purple FX was in all gametypes. Sorry about my stupidity. Re-downloaded.
