As I read through this thread I was shocked at the amount of negative feedback toward Kat's death. I agree whole heatedly with Rifte above, deep down Spartans are humans, despite their rough exterior. It truly showed the relationship between them as a team.

One thing I had expected the story to deliver was a small argument between Noble Six and Kat. In the "Deliver Hope" trailer it showed Thom (Original Noble Six) taking the bomb from Kat after she was hit by the banshee. (From which she lost her arm.) Anyway, I was half expecting to see her become defensive of Thom, and direct all of her feelings (Whether she intended to or not) at Noble Six being that (s)he is his replacement.

I doubt he'd be able to escape from the Pelican before it hit the Scarab. Especially if he was injured.
The Scarab was next to a cliff. No chance he would've survived the fall.

I thought Carters death was one of the best, I'm surprised someone hated it!

he knew they couldn't take out the scarab, so plotted a collision course. awesome.

Wrong. It DID NOT explode. The center section made a slip space jump to a different place.

GAH! For a Halo based fansite, i would hope that at least some of you had read the literature, or at least paid attention to the details.

KAT- The only reason that she was killed by a single shot was because of the previous damage. About 10 seconds before they run out of the room, they are hit by a NUCLEAR BLAST. This obviously drained all of their shields, and was the only reason why she was killed with one shot.

JUN- If anyone has read the Halo novel 'First Strike', you would find that Dr. Halsey was alone in CASTLE base. Her destination when leaving with Jun was CASTLE base. Halsey was the failsafe to make sure the covenant never captured the base. Jun must have died on the trip there, or while defending her when entering.

Further info on CASTLE base - John-117's Red team goes topside to defend MAC platform Generators. Gets distress signal from some gay admiral who ends up f***ing up a whole covenant fleet. The other half of Red team is scaredy little bitches, and decides that they should go hide in CASTLE base. they meet Halsey while the rest of their team is duking it out outside. (Chief is on Halo at this time) They sit there for like a week, going through the basement looking for ****, then later finding a mine. (The rest of their team is still fighting on the surface with the admiral.) Chief and Cortana feel tough and hijack a covenant flagship after leaving Halo. They bring the **** back to check out Reach, and find a signal (Oly Oly Oxen Free) which is the Spartan's code for "COME SAVE OUR ASSES" Chief goes to the surface, saves some spartans, then goes and gets the other pussies who are hiding under a mountain. They all go on the covenant ship, then Cortana picks up a covenant signal with earth's coordinates and some station called the 'uneven elephant' or some ****. They find a UNSC frigate, attach it to their ship, and jump to slipspace. Madness ensues. Halsey found some gay crystal in the mine that makes slipspace all sweet and stuff. They have a battle in slipspace, Halsey blasts off with the spartan Kelly, and chief and his squad go blow up an elephant. The admiral thinks he's tough, and hides in an Oort cloud. They take the covvie ship's slipspace drive and put it on the frigate. Chief has the elephant rigged to blow, and the admiral detaches the ships, and draws the whole damn covenant toward the asplodin' elephant. (?) Chief goes onto the frigate with the slipspace drive, and cries as the admiral blows everything up. They go to earth and give ONI the Halo data, and a shitload of Covenant data that Cortana found. The events of the game Halo 2 start.

    Too much typing.

So all of the spartans that survive reach are killed with MC in these battles? Kinda silly how MC makes it off, comes back to get everyone, and they all die anyway.

I don't know if you know this, but Halo: Reach does not follow the books. That's why new revised versions are being sold.

Kat - When Kat died i wasn't looking at my TV, so i turn around and go "OH **** KAT GOT KILLED?!" Kat's death was really the most emotional, in my opinion. It showed that no were was safe and after she died the cut scene really dedicated to the mood.

Carters - Epic, like Jorge's, he knew he had to do and when he was saying his last words it felt right. He knew he was going to die, and he accepted it.

Emile - Pure badass, fighting to the end even if you're stabbed in the back, because that's the only way to kill a badass. A stab to the back.

Jorge - His was epic, but his mom didn't seem to care.

Jun - I just hope Bungie does something with him to show what happened to him.

Just because ass-pulls are possible in the Halo universe.

    1. Kat could easily still be alive. In Fall of Reach another female spartan by the name of "Linda" took a plasma blast to the skull and was pronounced dead. And put in cryostasis. She was later thawed and after surgery was resuscitated returning to active duty.

    2. Jorge, there is NO evidence at all that Jorge is dead. All that happened was a slipspace drive was activated taking the center of the ship along with all contents to a different area of space. It could be anywhere from several thousand meters to lightyears away. Bungie themselves have even hinted at Jorge being alive in the Reach Legendary Edition commentary.

It wouldn't feel right if some of noble team was left, but some were dead. If Jorge and Kat were alive then it would be three (assuming Jun is alive) out of six alive. With the whole team dead it showed that they fought like a team and will died like a team (even though they didn't die at the same time) If they had them live it would be pointless because i don't think bungie will make campaign DLC and then Noble team will be separated. They were a team trying to complete a mission and they would and they did sacrifice themselves to complete it.
