Goldeneye Facility 2.0 This is a remake (to the best of my abilities) of the classic "Facility" from the good old game Goldeneye:007 for the Nintendo 64. If you've played GE before, you'll instantly know this map like the back of your hand. If you haven't played GE before, prepare to get rocked by the old school generation. Facility: No Facility is complete without the bathroom! Welcome to the main area of the Facility. This is the central "Hub" of the map that connects the front end of the map to the back end of the map. Feeling sneaky? Take the road less traveled. This back stairway leads directly to (or from) the bathroom and main area. It'll take you to a rear corridor that you can use to safely navigate around the facility. This is the locker room. The only thing that links the Main area to the long hall (below). This area is often times the choke point in team-based games. The long hall. It's long, and it's a hall. More importantly, it joins the locker room to the final two rooms of the Facility. This is one of the chambers that can be accessed through the long hall. The other chamber that can be accessed through the long hall. VENTS!! The shield door at the end of the hall is no longer present. Now it's just a closed corridor. In order to really enjoy this map the way it should be, 4-8 players are strongly recommended. You'll also need to download a specific game variant that I've made called: N64 "Classic" (I don't like starting threads on bungie.net because they disappear in a heartbeat so I hope the download link I posted is valid. The last thing I want or need is to be the "forum idiot" here on forgehub.) Map Features: -4 Health stations spread out over the map -Assault Rifle -DMR -Magnums -Shotgun N64 "Classic" Features: (It plays like an N64 game would) -No regenerating health -No shields -No grenades -No melee damage -Slightly faster movement This is the first time I've posted a map on Forge Hub so if I've done it wrong, please go easy on me. Thanks and let me know what you all think! (^.^) *Gnappy is accredited to being the one to add the vents. Thanks Gnappy!*
It had body armor. I used health packs to replicate the body armor. Perfect Dark had shields, but they behaved the same way body armor did. It's non-regenerative, which is the whole point basically.
Pic #2 looks a LOT like the bottom part in Narrows, so that's pretty neat. Mabie you could remove the Falcon though if it wouldn't be game-breaking. 3/5
Its there for decoration. If you play with the intended game variant, you won't be able to fly it. If you play with regular slayer, you won't be able to go anywhere with it. (^.^)
Already commented on your WIP thread, but now that I've downloaded and played it, I gotta say it plays even better than I expected it to. Perfect reacreation. I think I'll get started on a Complex remake sometime soon...
Great Job! It really feels like Facility when you walk around it. It maybe could have used a couple more purely aesthetic touches, but not really necessary. The gametype works great also, the movement definitely feels like N64. All in all i think you did a fantastic job on this and i am keeping it. The only thing that sucks is how campable some of the rooms are, but thats how the original was, so its not your fault. Also, doing this: is against the rules. Dont do that. Congrats on the sweet map.
Because the custom power up requires a "duration time" to be set. So even if I put it to give non-regenerative shields, it would run out after 90 seconds (I think that's the max time). Come to think of it though.....if you don't set a duration, does it last indefinitely? If it does, I'll do that for future maps. I thought necrobumping was against the rules. Didn't realize any kind of bumping was non-legit either. This place has so many rules it's impossible for me to keep up lol. Won't happen again.
This map has been updated to 2.0 status. It plays better, has more of the original map in it, and is the best version yet. Download link has been updated.
The only thing missing is proximity mines. Nice remake, altough pistol 1 shot kill is not that fun, you should cut the damage a bit
Love the new cylinders you have in the back rooms, could you edit me into the original post with credit for the vents?
