Mid-Lift Download Mid-Lift Code named "Octaplex," Mid-Lift was constructed with the idea of a symmetrical Free-For-All style type of map. There are three levels that all Players can traverse through, all of which being the hot spots in most battles. The Base Level is home to the lone Plasma Launcher, and can cause havoc in the basement area. Two Needlers spawn on opposite sides of the basement area on the outside walkways. There are four Teleporters on the map that are found on the Base and Mid Level. These are used for easy access to the Base Level and Mid Level. On the Mid-Level you can find one of the maps more dominant features. It is the Mid-Lift (Hence the name.) The Mid-Lift is essentially four Gravity Lifts in the center of the map which takes the Player up to the Top Level. The Top Level is where a lot of heated battles occur. On opposite sides of the Top Level are two Needle Rifles. Another one of the dominant aesthetic features of the map is the UFO Ship above the Top Level. It is an interesting structure, and if Players with Jet Packs are not careful, they might kill themselves while going up the Mid-Lift and hitting the UFO. This map works very well with the use of Jet Packs as well. Screenshots This is the overall overview of Mid-Lift. This is the Top Level. The UFO hovers above the Players. This is the Mid-Lift. This is found in the direct center of the map. The basement area. In the structure in the center is where the Plasma Launcher spawns. Ramp leading from the basement area to the Mid-Lift. The other ramp leading from the basement to the Mid-Lift. Ramp leading from Mid-Lift to the Top Level. My eyes... ARE BLEEDINGG!! tooo much greeeeeeen. and bluuueeee. On a side note, nice concept. I like the idea of a giant lift, reminds me of one of my maps on H3.
While the compactness of this map is a virtue, the steepness of those ramps is not! Some sort of compromise could be reached between the ceiling height and ramp steepness. Or make a gamma γ shaped spiralesque staircase... or a tiered staircase nice aesthetic though...
I can see how the steepness of the ramps about the map may be a problem for some Players, but with the Game Testing I did with other people, there weren't any complaints (as far as I know.) There isn't anything I can really do about the ramps unless I make very big changes in the map, which would result in it basically being an entire new map. I might consider it, though. Also, there are two One-Way Telepoters on the map. They are both found on the Base Level and Mid Level. One Teleporter takes you to the Basement while the other takes you to the Mid-Level. So really, there isn't a need for a Player to use the ramps if he/she doesn't feel the need to. (Unless certain circumstances occur.) There are three ways up and down the Basement and Mid Level, while there are three ways to travel up to the Top Level (Two ramps, and the Mid-Lift.)So the Player has many pathways to chooe from.
