Hi! My friend is trying to make a map where a vehicle spwans at 15 minutes, or at least is available to players at that point. Is there a way to make that happen, even though the max spawn time is 3 minutes?

You could probably do it with a series of explosives set to never respawn. Have 5 fusion coils set up vertically with fixed physics, leaving enough separation between them that one exploding does not set off the others. Then have a 6th fusion coil with a 3 minute spawn timer and normal physics falling from the sky and breaking the 5 fixed coils one by one. Somehow rig the last coil so its explosion releases the vehicle.

yeah, thats actually the best way to be able to do it...
Although it does seem like quite a hard task to do when thinking about it.
What vehicle are you wanting to spawn?

He's trying to spawn a Falcon at some point during an Infection game so that the remaining survivors can fly away. I'll look into to fusion coil idea, seems like it would just require long distances but at the end it has to somehow unblock a barricade to the Falcon.

knocking the falcon off an unreachable platform and into the map would work too.

Though I have to question the wisdom of a gametype where the infected are at such a huge disadvantage that they can't get more than a few kills in 15 minutes.

Mmmm 15 minutes is a long time, especially for infection. In all honesty, i'd be bored of being infected after about 5 minutes and probably quit out. But, that's probably because I hate most infection maps and gametypes as they're so unfair and biased towards the humans. I prefer maps that are in favour of the infected, but they're still one shot kill.

Would you care to explain how such a paradox would work?

1.) If an infection game lasts 15 minutes, either it's fat kid... or the zombies are 1-shot kills. Both of which are an instant fail for anyone other than high school kids and under that play games requiring no skill. Seriously... play a custom game of Firefight if all you wanna do is rape 1-hit kill targets and get a high score. Don't make someone else sit through a game of that on the receiving end.
2.) Then what happens if the humans get in the falcon? More one-sided game play in which the zombies have zero chance of getting the humans?

Can't quite remember the name of the game but it was something like Watch your Back on Can you Survive? and it was just a series of very dark tunnels in the crypt on sandbox, the humans had to run through these tunnels, they had no radar and only pistols. The zombies had radars, were painted black (like ninjas), they were one shot kills, but they could drop in to the tunnels every 5 yards or so and set up ambushes further up in the tunnels. It massively favoured the zombie, but they were one shot kill so it was very well balanced. Those minigame infection maps are 1000000x better than holdout style infections games because like stated above, why not just play firefight if you want to shoot one hit kill opponents for the sakes of things?
