I've been searching for the option in both forge and the custom game options but I can't seem to find the option to restrict players from playing as elites. Can anyone enlighten me as to how to change this option? Thanks in advance, and I look forward to being an active participant on the forum!
i dont have the game but i would think it would be a gametype setting similar to blocking other classes EDIT: wait a minute isnt everyone a spartan except when playing invasion
^^This Players never play as elites unless they are playing in invasion, ever wondered why you couldn't set your character to play as a certain race default?
I put my preferred species to elite and yes, you can play as an elite in infection if that is your preferred species. I really hope this can be restricted...
yeah I think that is for invasion slayer, don't quote me on that but there is defiantly a playlist were you can play as both, whether that be invasion or certain FFA gametypes. Have another look
Yeah, you're probably right. Like it'll see preferred race: elite, then it'll put that player as priority to play as an elite over a spartan.
Do you not read? Bungie did this so that it would be fair in every gametype and for the gametypes were it was multi species, then the default would be fair for both species, it is up for the custom content creaters to balance it.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend. I don't completely understand what you're saying. Are you saying that having both species available at all times makes the game more fair? I don't know what you mean by "then the default would be fair for both species..." Could you clarify what you're saying?

I believe you can make custom gametypes where players can spawn as either an spartan or elite, that's where preferred species comes in. I'm not talking about Spartans vs. Elites, Bungie said somewhere that there could be mixed gametypes.
o, i dont think they have that. i havnt tried editing opions yet, there might be a forced race, idk. u best bet might be going to elite slayer
You can restrict one species or another by hiding the load outs of the species you don't want to play...I think. It seems to work but I haven't fully tested it.
