    Totally unrelated, but I finally caught all the pokemon on R/S/E, with the help of my friend, of course.
    I also have something ridiculous like 500 hours of gameplay, because I decided to beat the game 100&

    I heard that none of the new pokemon are evolutions/pre-evolutions of existing pokemon, not sure if thats correct though.

    Yep, pretty sure that's been confirmed. I've been keeping an intense eye on Serebii and a few specific threads on the forums, and there's a lot of info that people know about that hasn't been posted on the front page. I actually reaaaalllyy like this gen. I know a lot of people here I think don't, but the more time I've spent looking at each new pokemon, the more I've come to really like each of them... save for a couple.

    My absolute favorite new one though so far, is Dasukan. (The Sarcophagus/Mummy Pokemon) It's just soooo damn badass looking, and as for Comp. battling, its ability is pretty awesome- if it is attacked with a physical attack, the attacker will lose its ability.

    I wouldn't say I don't like this generation. If I didn't like it I wouldn't bother looking it up on Serebii.net every day. I only dislike a few pokemon. I too have begun to like them the more I see but there are some that I can't get a positive feeling about.
    I usually only dislike a pokemon because of the way it looks. Usually it's only a piece of the design and not the whole pokemon. For example the bull pokemon called Baffuron. I only dislike it because it has an afro. Had it been gone I would probably be a favorite.
    I do actually like quite a few pokemon. The grass and water starters, including their evolutions I like. Shikijika and it's evolution I also like and Minezumi just because it's eyes make me think of crack addicts. Dasukan's ability also makes it pretty cool aswell.

    This will probably be the first generation to have a non-bipedal 3 evolution fire type.

    Eh, how can you make a pig stand up...?

    Um... idk if you noticed, or just didn't see the evolution already, but Pokabu3 is bipedal...

    Anyway, @Chronik... I actually really love Buffafro. He makes me think of Jules from Pulp Fiction. XD Personally, I really only hate Pokabu's evos and Tabunne. Tabunne is just ugly and creepy. I find the monkey trio to be an awesome idea, if not just a gimmick for the triple battle system. And the fact that the first gym is different depending on who you choose. It's the first game where who you choose really affects how the game plays out, besides just your rivals starter.

    As in the first gym, for those who haven't read it yet, goes like this:

    There are three gym leaders. Each one has one of the monkey trio. Depending on who you choose as a starter, you face the monkey that is your weakness. As in

    Pokabu will fight the water monkey.
    Smugleaf will fight the fire monkey.
    Wotter will fight the grass monkey.

    THEN, further depending on your starter, you will receive one of the monkeys, and it'll be the one you have the advantage over. (Who and when and why you are given it is yet to be known)

    So if you get...

    Pokabu --> Grass Monkey
    Smugleaf --> Water Monkey
    Wotter --> Fire Monkey

    So yea, it's pretty cool imo.

    Lol I'm pretty sure I remember you saying you were going to choose Pokabu simply because it was a pig. I guess it's evo's killed it for you huh?
    This is what is really making want to get these games. I love how they are doing things like this and expanding on the whole idea of version exclusives. It's good to see that along with pokemon being exclusive to separate games, they're also doing locations. For example Black City and White Forest being exclusive to one another.
    It's the features that make these games alot more interesting that the previous ones.

    EDIT: Is it just me or does Baoppu look like it has a turd on it's head?

    Yep, I did say that, and yep, his evos killed that for me. Now I'm totally lookin at Smugleaf. He was always so cool and smug, but now that his evos are (imo) much cooler than Pokabu's, and I'd arguably say Wotters as well, he's my def choice. Of course, I'll be getting a copy of each, so who's to say I won't pick pokabu in my other version? Oh well, I have time to wait til then...

    Yea they're really doing cool things to make each version unique. Not only does this make me HAVE to get each, so as to get all the pokemon and ****, but it makes me want to get each because each of them seems like it'll be its own experience. In previous gens, you'd play one version, and the other, save for version exclusive pokemon, was exactly the same. I really hope that there are even more things like this they haven't announced yet.

    Oh and as for Baoppu, I kinda thought he looked like he was going for an elvis look or something. But I see the turd shaped-ness lol

    EDIT: Reading the forums, I've actually noticed three cool things about the monkey trio.

    1. They represent the Speak/See/Hear no evil trio of wise monkeys. With Baoppu being the hear no evil, Hiyappu being the See no evil, and Yanappu representing speak no evil.

    2. Each of their tails is a suit from poker.

    Yanappu = Heart
    Baoppu = Spade
    Hiyappu = Club

    So is there a chance there will be a fourth, diamond monkey? Just speculation

    3. Finally, looking at their heads, what looks like a turd is actually his representation of his element. Fire.

    Baoppu = Flame shaped head
    Hiyappu = Wave shaped head
    Yanappu = Tree shaped head

    so again, if there is a fourth one, he could be ground type and have a rock or something on his head, and fit into the diamond shaped tail theory...

    Unlikely there is a fourth one, but it'd make some sense based on those facts...

    Pokmon Black & White - New Pokmon

    I'm ****ing pissed off to no end that fire is fire fighting again. I want to ****ing punch ken sugimori in the face for making this the 3rd generation in a row with fire fighting.

    Okay for my favorites so far by look and typing are..

    Jaroda, Leperasudo, Yanakki (I think the grass monkey looks cool...), Dageki, Ononokuso (Definitely this dude, probably my favorite from the generation), Kirikizan, Wargle, Maybe Sazando I still haven't decided whether I like the dark dragon evo (love it's typing though), Birijion (grass types are really standing out this gen, at least for me), Torunerosu (finally a pure flying :D), and Zekrom (most of it based on typing, electric dragon, ****. yes.)

    Shibirudon will be so abused. Pure Electric-type with Levitate.

    I'm happy with some of the new typing, but the grass and water starters could have used secondary typing. The fire-fight again is a disappointment.

    I was really hoping Emonga would have an evolution and that Zeburaika would've been Electric, Dark.

    So I've seen the Pokemon on Serebii.net. I'll post my favorites.

    • Leperasudu. It's a purple leopard. 'Nuff said.
    • Zeburaika. Zebras FTW.
    • Gamageroge.
    • Meguroko, Warubiru and Warubiaru.
    • Purotooga and Abagoora.
    • Shikijika and Mebukijka.
    • Denchura.
    • Ononokusu.
    • Kojondo.
    • Wargle.
    • Kobaruon, Terakion and Birijion.
    • Kyuremu.
    There's lot of fighting types in this generation. The pure flying type legendary is a major disappointment. Aside from that this generation looks alot better than I thought it would.

    Okay another reason Ononokuso is gonna kick ass: This guy has access to swords dance and dragon dance. Add mold breaker to that and he's a force to be reckoned with. Definitely a main part of my gen 5 team.

    He's pretty much unstoppable, holy ****.

    Okay, I have never really heard a good explanation of Mold Breaker. The closest I got was that it canceled out type and ability immunities.

    Yep it cancels out ability, for example if someone has levitate, that gets removed and they are no longer immune to ground type.

    Okay, does that work for flying and ground too or not?

    It's basically only for moves.

    If someone wants to hit a pokemon with levitate with a ground move then they can (for example one of the new pokemon is pure electric with levitate), so then with mold breaker he can use any ground move and it still works.

    It's called general discussion for a reason, all pokemon related stuff is awesome!

    You should get a DS and get heartgold or soulsilver though man, you'd love it.
    I'd assume pokemon pinball

    EDIT: I decided to do the same, except with all my gameboys, except for my pocket which I could not for the life of me find...

    [IMG]

    also before anyone asks the acekard one is an SD card holder, so I have platinum and japanese white on there currently in the form of ROMs.
