    Anyone know how the Arena rating system works?
    I've so far managed to work out that 1 kill = 3 deaths + 1 more point :p
    So if 1 kill = 10 points, 1 death = -3

    Anyone know the exact values?

    They did a whole work up on this before the beta.

    raw_rating = kills + assists - deaths/3 - betrayals

    Then plug raw_rating into:

    rating = loss_penalty * (1000 + (2000/pi * atan( raw_rating * game_normalization )))

    Of course, it's much more complex than that.If you want to read up on it in this Bungie Update. Scroll down to "Two Spartans Enter…"

    If you want to know your rating for any particular game, InferiorPigeon posted a spreadsheet for figuring out you score for a game. Just plug in the info and it gives you a number.

    WHAT THE F*CK! All I know is that you get rated for you best three games of the day. That's it -_-.

    Yeah, as much as those formula's look like they work.
    I've found some MASSIVE floors in the rating system.

    First being: The enemy team quits. Your rating stays at what it is. So if you've just gotten a killing frenzy from the start of the match, the enemy team quits, you get a rating of around 1460. Which to be honest, is a crap rating if you want to get in the highest division. (this leads onto the second point)

    Second: You've just got 10/0 and the game's ended, you've scored a rating of 1460, you're team mate, who went 27/22 got a rating of 1590. So where's the logic there? Player one has given his team 10 kills at the expense of 0 deaths, he hasn't contributed to the enemy team at all. Player 2 on the other hand got the team 27 kills but contributed to the enemy 22 times. In my honest opinion, Player 1 is 2x better than player 2, yet the rating system says otherwise because Player 2 technically could of died 81 times before his score hit back to 1000.

    I really think there needs to be more in this rating system. I.e, if the enemy team quits out before the games completed, you're extra score (score on top of 1000) is multiplied by 2 and added on.

    Also, if you're on the winning team, you should receive like a bonus of some sort. I've found numerous times where I've been the highest + player in regards to k/d spread, but i've been bottom of the rating because my team gets all the kills.

    Which brings me to another point with bonuses, you should receive a bonus for sprees. If you get a killing spree, it should add 50 points, killing frenzy would give you +100, Running riot +150 etc... so it's the kill value *10. That works out 10x better than the current arena rating system because atm, it's completely flawed.

    First: I agree. It's crap it stays where it is but you can't exactly guess with these things. It's supposed to be hard numbers, not guesses because the other team quits. Who knows how the rest of that game could have gone.

    Second: That isn't the whole story. Assists count too. If the 10/0 guy had no assists but the 27/22 had 10, the 27/22 guy would be higher. Besides, in a game where you can get a guy with 27 kills and a guy with 10 kills, you want the guy sticking his neck out there. I'd rather someone take the risk than sit back and piss someone off because they were playing it safe. You don't win playing it safe. Overall, it works just fine. It isn't all about your kill/death spread.

    You don't have a bonus for winning exactly. It's actually a penalty for losing. If you loose, you actually have .95 of the points you earned.

    I don't see Bungie doing anything that adds raw_rating. That throws everything off. Your reward for a killing spree is the fact that you have 5/10/15/ext kills against 0 deaths.

    It works just fine, no matter how much it pisses me off sometimes.
