So Teh Map was making a map, putting a few walls up and discovered this awesome little trick, I am posting it for all the world to enjoy and use in you maps. This is a ladder, when you walk into it and jump you can climb up it and if you don't move you will slowly fall. We also made some cool stuff with it like a big wall that you can run around in and go up and down as you please.. Well lets get started Place 2 blocks next to each other, they can be anything from 5x1s to 5x5 Flats.(We couldn't get some objects to work, we know that blocks work). It may or may not help to have them at the same height. Next get a 1x1 block and flip it on it's side. Line the outermost edge of the 1x1 up with the inner most edge of the flat block. Zoom in and use fine movements to get it right on the spot. (Note: if it is not lined up right it wont work) Move the 1x1 block down so you can see how close the right flat block is to the other flat block. Now move the right flat block to line up with the 4th dark line on the 1x1 block. At this point you should be able to go between the two flat blocks and jump up it. It may take a little adjusting to get it to work right. The trick is just moving it till you can fit between the two walls but it's such a tight fit you wont fall very fast when you jump. Thanks for looking let me know if you need any more help.
You can also place two shield doors orange side up above one another and the top one will pull you up when you go through the bottom one. You can place the top one quite high and it will still suck you up through like a vent.
Chan- while I have seen that method work, the one-way shield doors are iffy. I have been able to walk straight through one on many occasions. But if Bungie ever fixes them they would make a great ladder. Even could be added to the ladder Sqorck and I discovered to make it easier to move up. However, keep in mind that by using the shields you create a one way ladder that you can not travel down with.
I've tried this and it worked for me the first two times...and then never again I think NOTHING can be snapped to the grid. its almost like .06 of a nudge point
Kiwi- you are correct. In order to get the wall perfect, you have to have a very gentle tough when moving the blocks around. It's helpful to zoom in while you are doing it so you can get VERY precise movements.
I wonder... I oughta try this, and try to guess exactly how many units (to the hundredth) are between the walls... That could aid others in their precision, perhaps...
Tried this I can't get it to work Hey I did this for about 1 1/2 hours and it still doesn't work I've tried everything and followed all the instructions to the letter
I have been trying to work this and nothing would work so then i found out what was the problem you have to set one of the 5x5 at 90 degrees and the other one at -90 if you dont you will just fall right through i also tested it by switching it around. so i should of solved most peoples problems
I wasn't trying to troll haha, but it's very similar to this except you don't use the stunt ramp. It's on youtube, along with the jump pad tut.
