i just meant thers nothing taking place on the entire thing in matchmaking. there is no limit in customs, you could play slayer on the entire blank forge world canvas if you wanted to. but if you wanted the be able to play in every area of forgeworld in that one game, you would need either teleporters or bridges. it would probably be too big for even 16 players, but you could do it if you wanted to.
Blue base in canyon, red base at top of tower. Only vehicle spawns are at base. Can spawn on partner. No weapon spawns, only different loadouts. A couple teleporters. Make it some sort of gametype like that capture multiple flags thing but points aren't decided until the end and no new ones ever respawn...
*groan* I thought the Grid in Sketchup was 15x15 with squares the same as Halo 3... my map is twice the size I thought it was!
still waiting for my copy. wheres the damn ups truck????? can anyone tell me if there is transport hog in forgeworld?
Anyone else felt it was weird controlling the objects in Forge 2.0? I'm so used to being able to push and pull objects using the left trigger/left thumbstick combo from Halo 3. I'm not liking how the objects are at a fixed height.
Agreed shroomz. It feels really weired but we'll soon get used to it. You can move things really accurately in all directions but up and down :/ That really annoys me.
Before I played a bit in Firefight to get re-used to the controls (I wanted to watch the second-last episode of America's Got Talent, so there was no time for Campaign) I dabbled a bit in Forge in Sword Base. First off, I'm actually surprised at the lack of Fixable/Phasable objects in this map, I thought for sure the crates would be part of that. Second, I'm really digging these new controls; they're much easier than in H3's Forge. It will take a bit of getting used to, but I moved up/down by using the LB and RB buttons.
If anyone is having trouble figuring out how to place the objectives other than the flag spawn, capture point and hill markers, what you have to do is in the menu change the game type to the one you are wanting toset up, then place the capture plate. press X while holding it or hovering the reticule over it to go into object options. Go to advanced and then change the Game Type Label to Oddball_Ball to get the oddball to spawn on it for example. Don't know if you can use the same plate for multiple game types though.
I quite like the controls. I was thinking I'd have to use coordinate editing for every piece but it turns out that you can put the piece in the right place by eye then just by opening the nudge tool it automatically moves the piece to the nearest actual coordinates. So no more placing an object, reloading a map and finding the object has moved slightly! I also like how the objects aren't always centralised on the screen. If you grab the corner than you hold on to the corner.
Has anyone noticed that if you repeatedly alternate between phased and normal physics really fast you can geomerge movable objects?
Good idea to implicate on an invasion map: A short tunnel between two areas that is tall enough for spartans to crouch through but too short for elites to crouch through. Make it a good escape route or easy way to get somewhere for spartans while elites must go around...
