Is it just me, or does the new forge seem very restricted to what can be produced?

I mean, it's very nice getting these new rooms, blocks, walls (even though the size difference between collesium and double are waaaayy too big). But i'm getting an overall impression that with the new controls forging has become more difficult, rather than simplified.

Like for instance, lining things up vertically. Bumpers are a lot harder to navigate slowly than with a joystick and as someone previously mentioned, the edit coordinates tool isn't exactly pin point accurate.

Another problem i've seen people having is creating things for gametype specific maps. For example, me and a mate created a race course which would need a hill in the landing zone to end the game. Players enter rocket-hogs and race through jumps, steep hills, and twisty corners to reach a finish area. Yet, in forge, i found NO option to place race points, race starting points, race finish lines etc... You can only place a hill marker, which doesnt even allow KOTH to be played on the map. I also went into forge and selected the RACE gametype to see if there were additional options to configure the map for it. This also doesnt show race points etc...

Anyone know how to use this new forge properly yet? I want to make a decent map, but atm, i'm restricted to just making crap all to figure out how to even implement a gametype on a map.

    Re: lining things up vertically.

Let every significant flat area be at a height you can snap to with the nudge. That's what I'm doing on Genome 2.0 and by combining that with left stick click I'm having no troubles.

Unfortunately I'm no help in setting up gametypes yet, I haven't tried.

yeah i've found that if i just always use the edit coordinates menu, i can get to the right heights on each item but it's a bit of a pain if you need to free-merge something.

When you're forging with the race gametype selected, open up the options on the hill marker and somewhere (I haven't actually done this before, I saw it on an invasion forging video) there should be a way to change its properties to Race_marker or something along those lines.
I hope you find this from my very vague instructions :p

    l2f, k?

There is no checkpoint object in Reach, instead you place a hill and set its gametype option to be a race checkpoint.
Also, you don't set up vehicles for Race in Forge. You set the vehicles in the gametype and players spawn in them at the start of the game.

Its not more restricted, you just haven't looked under the hood yet!
