EDIT: v2 is now available here: Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details Hey guys, here is my first Halo Reach map, called Suspension: Basically I tried to make a catwalk map in Halo 3 but got too frustrated in positioning the bridges correctly, so I had a do-over in Halo Reach, and this is what I came up with. It is a symmetrical map that is geared towards Slayer Pro. It is also in prototype form, so any advice or help with the finished product would be greatly appreciated. Blue base Red base Top catwalks Ok the new screenshots that I took are not loading on bnet so I'll post those when they become available.
You say your map is still in the prototype stages. If so, it might be best if you took your map over to the Testers Guild to get some testing done so that you can better the final product of your map. However, with the launch of Halo: Reach, they have gone on a hiatus until the 4th of October. At which time, follow the guidelines in the Announcement on that board, and get your map tested. If you have any questions, or need any help in general, feel free to ask.
Out of curiosity, I see there is a door on the front of the bay to fully enclose the area...is that door something you created by combining a bunch of pieces or is the door one giant piece?
downloaded this last night and checked it out with a friend. the layout is simple and good, but what you really need is more cover there is pretty much NO cover whatsoever anywhere on the map. think about lines of sight, add more cover on the bottom level and interrupt some of the LOS on the top as well
Thanks...didn't know that...definitely give the area new appeal to me for making some smaller in-door team slayer based maps. Right now I'm working on a two base map in the gulch...maybe my next creation will be in there.
Ok I have added cover to the ground floor and will post it shortly. EDIT: Map is done and is available on my file share, pictures will come shortly. Suspension v2. LMBarta helped me with weapon placement.
Out of curiosity, why did you only use the lights to designate bases? You know you can change the color of the lights on the structural objects right?
