Did anybody else realize that the reviews either didn't mention forge, or they marked it down for it? One review even went so far as to call it useless!
ha that's funny on the SWTOR site someone mentioned that if it wasn't for forge and theater Halo would suck... Seriously, if Halo didn't have forge I would not play it nearly as much.
Well Halo 2 managed quite well without either! Forge I suppose is useless if you have no interest in creating maps, have no XBL friends and only want to play the Campaign. But then in that situation, half the game becomes useless! I think its also funny that a lot of reviewers keep calling it "The Forge" rather than just "Forge" or "Forge Mode". Like I'd say "Theatre" or "Theatre Mode" but not "The Theatre"
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO I FOUMD A TOP DOWN VEIW OF FORGE WORLD HERE I DONT KNOW IF ANYONE ALREADY SAID THIS I KNOW IN SOME THREAD THEY MADE A HORRIBLE PAINT VERSION BUT I CANT FIND IT SO IM POSTIN IT HERE, IDK WHY IM TYPING IN CAPS IM SUPER EXCITED FOR REACH LOLOLOLOL ONLY 2 DAYS TIL REACH SORRY FOR CAPLOCKS SPAMMING Ok forgegasim gone, I seriously have no idea why I posted this
 The section has just been added, but I'm guessing map posts won't be allowed until the game's official release.
There already is one. I dont know why it is there but it's not marked as leaked content but it has been there for a few days so i guess its not somehow.
it was posted a half hour ago. and its not leaked if he got the copy legit, and he must have if he was able to post it on bungie or put it on his fileshare
lol also hooked up with a couple of Aussies for a 4 player legendary campaign blitz. But that's two hours after I get it.
Well, I know the Toronto SUN's games reviewer just talked about how "Reach is intimate yet epic" blah blah blah it was all about the Campaign, no mention of Forge, Multiplayer modes of any kind, or even Theatre! At least they gave it 4.5/5 stars...
I've seen a few remakes. At first glance they look amazing, but that's just because its sort quick to line objects up now and the Forge pieces themselves look amazing. When you look closer you start to pick up on all the imperfections which have no reason to be there, especially since its possible to open up and edit a map in Halo Custom Edition and Halo Reach has coordinate editing! I know I'll be playing Reach tomorrow, but I would like to know how big the Coliseum is in Grid Units.
I'm surprised no one has jumped at this yet... ANYWAY: -What are the available game modes for Forge World? (I heard somewhere that you couldn't do infection, but they must've been mistaken or I read it wrong) -Can you leave explosive barrels in the air? -Can you fuse objects (such as blocks or flag points or whatever) onto vehicles? Would the vehicles still move around with the fused objects? -How do you section off areas so that you can put a limit on Forge World stages? (this might've been explained earlier, but is there actually a tool that lets you draw the stage's restrictions?) -Can you fuse stuff together and then move the fused object around as a group? (I'm assuming you can, but I've not seen any videos do it for whatever reason) Thanks in advanced. EDIT: Oh, one last thing: How does matchmaking work for Forge World? Is it even possible?
well i have not played the game, but i can still answer most of those questions: 1. you can forge all game modes on forge world (firefight not included) 2. this one i am not completely sure of, and i do not think so, but if anything even if you can they will fall when touched. they are still movable objects. 3. no 4. you can set soft or hard kill barriers much as you would set like a hill area, so if you go outside the boundary of it you either die right away(hard kill) or you have 10 seconds to return(soft kill). 5. no 6. im not sure exactly what you mean, but there no multiplayer that takes place on the entirety of forge world. however there are bungie made maps in forge world that are in matchmaking, including hemorrhage(blood gulch ish), asylum, the cage, paradiso, and pinnacle(ascension). there is no matchmaking for forge if thats what you mean.
Good stuff; thanks for the response. Guess I'm gonna have to get XBL friends together to play some stuff on Forge (really wish the game would let random people join, like how Gears of Wars worked back in the day; Randoms were awesome). With regards to the size of maps, is there actually a limit to how big you can make a playable Forge World map (I'm assuming yes since you said that no game set on Forge World can take place using the entirety of the map)? Like... what's the biggest stage you can have people play on? (if maximum playable area is as big as Sandtrap, I would be fine, honestly)
