    Y'all are being ****ing retards.

    Seriously, 3rd time.

Watch the forge world vidoc and around 4:42 there is a bridge made of shields and the driver seems to be handling them pretty well.

If y'all still don't get it after this I give up.
    Jesus.

Calm down Organite. Yes, we all saw the ViDoc. Yes, we all know that it is possible to drive vehicles (bouncily) across shield doors and people "ignored" you're comment because we know it can be done and its been done in Halo 3.

This thread is not just a "can vehicles drive over one way shield doors?" thread. mkay? There are can be other things to discuss besides making a light bridge.

Also, "handling them pretty well"? They drove on to the shield doors and the continued in that direction while bouncing across them. I don't think they had much control at all!
The first shot you see, the mongoose is actually not in contact with the shield door at all, he jumps off the ramp. The 2nd shot shows them bouncing off, they're not in control. Their handling stops when they come off the Coliseum Wall.

just hear me out on this one (inspired by your thoughts)..... a hole with a spawn in it, BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!!! add a horizontal one way on top, and you have a spawn that IS NOT CAMPABLE!!!!! yay for weird ideas. :ninja:

Placing a spawn point halfway through a one way shield door and a drop just infront. Player spawns, shield door pull effect pulls them through and pushes them off the no-entry side forcing them down the drop. Thus negating spawn camping as they are no longer able to get back up to the spawn spot. (tweaking needed of course, just a concept idea)

    To sum up this discussion.

NO YOU CANNOT SHOOT THROUGH THE ONE WAY SHIELD.
YES, you bounce on the shield, but not as much as with halo 3 shield doors and you can control your vehicle to a certain extend.

Yah, please stop talking about these properties now, everything has been answered. Unless it is a new question about it then don't ask -.-

Ohh and I will be making the one way lift on Saturday hopefully :p With screenshots :D

no i mean they would have to jump to use the one way, so they would automatically spawn in a safe area. :ninja:

what if someone is camping the "safe area"

    make multiple safe areas?

What if they are camping all safe areas.

idea seemed good until i started thinking about it

yea if i see a one way shield door hole thing, i know somebody might spawn there. with normal spawns, theres no visual indication unless you "study" them in forge, so i dont think thats a very good idea

You could make a one way shield door tunnel/bridge that can be entered from all angles but you can only get out from either of the two ends.

They can be used as a bridge, according to the vidoc of forge world. That huge bridge over the gulch that the mongeese travelled on.

how hard is this to comprehend? a hole. it has a one way shield door over it. you cannot access this shield door from the outside. i had another idea where you make a cube out of one way shield doors so if you can be safe inside your little spawn cube.

its not hard to comprehend, but it still only has one entry point, and people know where the spawn points are. a cube would be good because you can look around you. the only way to effeciently put this system into play would be to make people spawn in little cavities in the wall with a 1 way shield door in front of them.

A bit off topic, but has anyone seen the leaks. If so, are there normal shield doors.
PS: My plan is to use them like a Halo CE teleporter. I place one down on the stage, then put a teleporter nearby but out of sight (maybe phased just inside another object). Then I use the teleporter range function to make it so it is just in front of the Shield Door and then it seems like when you step into the shield door (which looks FAIRLY similar to the CE teleports, especially Chiron TL-34) you teleport. Clever huh?

Yeah there's regular shield doors, it's not leaked, it's been on the item list for some time.

    Yes.
Also; Are you able to walk into the side of the one-ways? I believe they are thick enough. If so, if so; can you tell me what happens?

i mean if you DO put the hole idea, i don't think you would be dumb enough to only put one or two. its also a little more aesthetically pleasing that the cube.

So the one-way doors sort of "catch" players when they move through them (the right way, obviously). If you get real close to a door from the blue side, it'll pull you through it. My question is, would this reset the physics? Like, if you had a spartan falling a big distance, and then right near the bottom he passed through a shield door, would it catch him, slow him down, and then push him through, negating his fall damage?

I'm not quite sure I understand the physics of a one-way-door, but they talk about how it sucks players into it in this thread about using it to suck players up a lift. I think it could be useful to slow players falling down a lift, too!

I don't have Reach yet (it ships here slowly) so I was wondering if somebody could answer or test this for me.

I found a funny trick, not sure how you could use it in a map.

Spawn 2 1way shield doors, place them in the same place but turn one around. Players can walk in and they get stuck, unable to go on to either side but still able to attack other players!

The only ways to escape are to either get killed or have this feature over a hole (so the player can walk along the shield door trap and fall down the hole) or a grav lift (the move the player up and off the shield doors)
