I just thought of a cool idea where you could use one way shield doors like trampolines for players, where you place one horizontally with the orange face pointing upwards, just like in Halo 3 with vehicles, since players cant walk through them you could make some pretty cool maps using the one way doors. You could possibly also use this in jump maps to gain extra height. If you made two facing each other placed vertically, you could even have bouncing walls.

A more obvious use is to block of large sections of your map.

What else could they be used for?

depending if bullets can go through it, or only through one way. then it could be cool to place one in the sky as a platform someone could jetpack up to and snipe from.
since usually when you use the jetpack, you dont get much distance, unless you have momentum, and you probably wont be able to get up to a normal ledge floating because of it. but with the one way doors, you can just fly straight up and not worry, then simple land and snipe.

It does not bounce you high enough to work as a useful trampoline. Also ROFL, been discussed before. :)

whenever I think about their uses, the main one that come up is that I'd use them for aesthetics, other than that the only use that is out of the ordinary is to use them as platforms (like those of games like Super Smash Bros, Kirby and so on)

They'll bounce as much s Halo 3 shield doors, won't they? You're not going to make buge trampolines to launch vehicles out of bases but there were some pretty clever race tracks which used them on Foundry.

could they possibly be used as some sort of light bridge? i cant remember what mission it is on halo 3, its where you find the IWHBYD skull.

I was thinking you could use it as a bridge, but the bounce effect it gives might ruin that. Also you do bounce a little lower than Halo 3 but its still decent as i saw this is a race video where the ending is a box made out of one way shields.

I'm pretty sure that in the Forge World Vidoc there is a race map where there is a bridge composed of one-way shields.

Making an inescapable box would be good for forcing players into teleporters and such. Or serve as a prison cell. Or even an execution chamber for Prison maps. Create an inescapable one-way shield box with a soft kill barrier inside.

Players don't bounce off of shield doors, they bounce off of the orange side of one way doors.

    Nyte, you be trollin'

YOU CANNOT SHOOT THROUGH ANY SIDE OF A ONE WAY SHIELD DOOR!! IF YOU PLAYED THE BETA YOU WOULD KNOW THAT!!!

I think you could use the one way to give maps easy aesthetics for any maps, that have extra money in the budget. You could also use it for stadium maps so there's no spawn camping and makes the map look very neat if used correctly, it could also prevent spawn camping in infection games by placing it in front of the zombie spawn.

Which map in the beta had those again? I'm pretty sure the Invasion shield doors are a bit different from standard shield doors.

    This comment totally got ignored.

its ok dude, my bad i didnt specify, i forgot about the other shield doors. <3

annnnddddddddd we werent talking about shooting through the shield doors lol, we were talking about weather or not a player bounces on them like a vehicle does in halo 3, and i guess players do, so it ruined my day because i was hoping to use the one way shield doors as a type of light bridge. but oh well.
