Considering we can now store 1000 maps and 1000 game types, I have a feeling my (as well as everyone else's) Forge World maps section will get very cluttered, very fast. Thinking back through all the great maps I had to sacrifice for room for more custom content, this isn't an issue of simply cleaning out my maps section. I can easily imagine myself having hundreds of great games to be able to choose from. I can also imagine being the game host of a huge lobby and saying, "Hold on, I gotta scroll through these 700 forge world maps to find the one I'm looking for." As far as I know Bungie hasn't made any organizational tools yet (folders would be nice) and since Forge World will be the map 99% of people forge on, we're looking at some serious scrolling through hundreds of maps to get what you want.

And it's not just the maps! With all those creations, how will I know which map all these game types go to? I can barely keep track of the 50 game types I currently have for Halo 3, let alone 1000! I suggest putting "goes with X map" in the description of all your game types and "goes with X game type" in the description of all your maps. This suggestion should probably be stickied somewhere in the forge forum of Forgehub. :)

If I missed an announcement Bungie gave about custom content organization please correct me.

Yup, you did miss an announcement. You can tag all of your files on your console, not just the ones you upload to your fileshare. You can search tags.

Well that's cool, but what if I forgot the name of my map? Will I have to add a dozen tags to each map just to find the one I want? I do like the tagging system, I can see all of my maps being separated into infection, competitive, mini-game, race, etc. but it seems even with that there is still a lot of scrolling.

Personally, I only like Infection and mini-game maps, which means I have to put individual tags on each map. I can't have a grouping system with each set of maps (like the above tags), because that will only half the search size for me (lol 700 to 350, that is still 350 maps I have to scroll through). I can't tell you how many times the tag search failed to find the thread I was looking for on Forgehub. I foresee a similar problem happening here.

Tagging certainly will help me in the search of my maps, but will it be enough?

Tagging would work just the same as putting those maps into one "infection" folder. Regardless of whether you are searching by tag or folder, there are still 350 infection map. I suggest getting more detailed with all of your tags if that is too much of an issue.

Either way, you can search by name, type, and any tags you added or other people have added. It shouldnt be too hard as long as you know what you are looking for.

True. I just hope my forgetfulness doesn't get the better of me. I tend to forget about a map's details to the point where not even the most perfect organizational system could help me.

this is intriguing, i never heard about that, that is very cool... Ill have to add a WIP tag to anything im not done with at the time so i dont mistake it for a full map. this does make it easier to find the map were looking for though so i like it alot.

im going to organize mine by who to play it with, have frequent tags on ones i use a lot. i will not use all 1000 of my maps. i dont use but 20 H3 maps and after that they are just ones that i am too lazy too delete. so mainly, my maps will be racetracks and a few other maps that i actually use. i will also have tags based on location, canyon, spiral, lagoon, island, colliseum, quarry, etc.

I suggest that if you tag the maps, tag them using the specific game type. Instead of "infection" use "fat kid" or "**** zombies". That's how I started editing the description on a lot of my maps.
