Gold is as strong as wood. Hand > Wood = Gold > Stone > Iron > Diamond What purple ore are you talking about?
If you mean obsidian than you can only mine it with a diamond pick, and even then it takes like 30 seconds for each ore.

I'm exporting a video right now of my minecraft fortress, and I've got this mine maybe 50-100 blocks long and I've found 6 diamond from that. Diamond is normally found near lava too, so just gonna throw that out there.

OMG, I'm so glad everyone is getting into this game! I am addicted to it even though i get limited time to play. When i made my first shelter i was lucky enough to hit man many intertwining cave systems and i made an epic light tower on top of my base. Ill post pics tomorrow along with descriptions etc. My save right now is pretty epic Also, i found sdrakulich on accident by looking up minecraft videos on youtube lol.

I spent the last 2 hours fining a free version of the game, I had several Virus attacks and zero success, only to see that there is a free version on the homepage ... And I hate you Camo for making this thread, this game is so addicting ♥ Edit: The real fun is only in the alpha version I suppose? Like the whole survival part you can see in the videos

I love to explore everything, the natural structures, the hills, the trees. It's great to search for the perfect spot to build something, I think I will buy the alpha version later
I can't believe you have to ask that. So who wants to build a little town with me, with roads and side-walks and designated spots so people can build their own houses? Or Pallet town? Or recreate Kokiri Forest?
