I wanted this part to be a surprise, but here on Forgehub we probably value information more than we do trivial spoilers, so I'll tell you. My plan is to set the map on the beach. The intersection of the map will dip into the water (there's the creek you're looking for). One half will be set on the ground, using rocks for cover and for the surrounding walls. The other half will be completely forerunner. And as for names... Badger Creek?
This sounds like a good idea, but tell me this. How are you gonna make the underground tunnels for the beach side if you're using beach as the ground? Unless Bungie allows us to dig into the geometry but I'm almost positive that wont happen. You have a great concept with the creek though.
Instead of going under, I'm actually going over. As it turns out though, I didn't actually do that to avoid the impossible digging, I initially thought I was going to do the whole thing forerunner in the sky. Going over allows me to put a sort of front porch on the base. Bungie confirmed that there is no terrain digging feature. And thanks for the compliment, Skisma.
Nice map! I look forward to it. As far as name goes, I recommend possibly Beta Creek to go along with the B theme for the first word.
One recoomendation I have is that you should take advantage of forgeworld by not building this in the colessium. You can use rocks to simulate terrain and do it in the cannyon somewhere.
You should put it outside of the Coliseum, like on some flat-ish Halo terrain. Plus, here's a name: Brutal Creek
I've said it before, I'll say it again, I've only built the base in sketchup, I'm reserving the rest for when I have terrain to play with. And the base isn't supposed to be a replica, just a similarly built, but updated version of the previous base.
Sorry, I didn't see that post earlier. One thing I can reccomend is to use rocks as terrain. You should be able to make a nice rock arch, but you should also use the rocks for the ditch with the stream in it. Also have you seen the map riptide. It places floors of the map underwater so that you don't die but you also feel like your wading water. Try and do this with your stream and it'll look really nice.
Suggestion: It's too square. Try and replicate some of the natural feel with phasing. --- Also, if you make it in the quarry you'll have a lot more green and a lot less walls
I thought it looked pretty cool. The coliseum looks to be biggest area for a Beaver Creek admission. The little outhook where Asylum is located looks rather small. I will probably attempt to inspire a map to Beaver Creek, and just a rebirth of my Halo 3 map, Access.
I was thinking of building it on the beach, in which case I could make one side completely forerunner, and one side as terrain and rock covered as possible (plus, water!). EDIT: Also, Noble Creek. Nice one Shroomz!
