Rust If you don't know what Rust is, well, you need to expand your horizons. Whether you love the game or hate the game Modern Warfare 2 has some pretty fun maps, and now you can get all the epicness of CoD maps in all the non-broken non-hacked good-spawning awesome of Halo! Rust is an attempted functionally-identical remake of Rust from Modern Warfare. Obviously there will be some adjustments to make the Spartan giants a little more mortal, so I have a gametype below. TEAM DEATHMATCH: Base Player Traits: Walk Speed: 70% Player Gravity: 250% Player Damage: 80% Shields: None Health: 200% LOADOUTS: I was trying to think of some, but I ran blank. Loadouts: DMR - Magnum - 1 frag, 1 plasma AR - Magnum - 1 frag, 1 plasma shotgun - grenade launcher - 1 frag, 1 plasma .etc isnt that hard anyways, its a good map, but Halo will have a tough time impersonating it
You want CODish loadouts? 1.Shotgun/Grenade Launcher 1 grenade 2.Grenade Launcher/Shotgun 1 grenade Then make some variations of the above two and you'll have pretty much all the classes used in COD Oh! and you can have Sword/Magnum/Sprint. Yup, those are pretty much all the guns youll see in COD

Seems like someone has a lot of reppresed anger/fanboyism...MW2 is a surprisingly fun, fast paced game. It favors tactics, positioning, and just about everything else over your ability to point the cursor at your enemies. This is why a lot of Halo players have a hard time adjusting to it. In all honesty, no one uses n00b tubes (at least, I haven't come across more than two n00b-tubers in the past fifty games I've played. It gets blown out of proportion by the Halo community and...well, the rest is history. EDIT: Tac-Knifing is annoying, but takes incredible skill to pull off. Anyways, wouldn't it make more sense to have a faster Walk Speed? I mean, with Reach's default run speeds at 75%, you'll essentially be crawling...The only way this could possibly work is if you have Sprint on all classes, and enable Unlimited AA Power. Even then...I just don't think it'll work with Halo's natural requirement of paying attention to what's going around you. Cheers, HarisSales.
I was also thinking about making a COD gametype. You just need to adjust shields/damage a little and give everyone sprint. And loadouts should be like: DMR/shotty Sniper/magnum AR/Nade launcher dmr/rockets AR/pistol etc. Although you might want to not use nade launcher/rockets(thumper/rpg) to avoid gayness.
Well. thats why it was featured in a DO NOT PLAY top 10, cuz its just sooo much fun. one word. shotgun. No, we cant adjust to it because the game sucks. But on topic, the map looks sweet, when reach come out ill give it a dl and see how it plays <3 keep up the good work good sir.
You seem to have left out most of the map. Anyways, what I would suggest, is instead of trying to make Halo in CoD (trust me, it just never works out the way you plan), take rust, and adjust it to working for Halo. I actually think Rust would play a lot better in Halo than it does in MW2. So I would say start with the center tower, make it a larger platform, maybe put a power weapon (rockets?) at the base of it, a man cannon instead of the ladder, and then work from there. I think you could make it fit nicely into the Colosseum, so you don't have to build walls. I might even take a crack at recreating a spiritual successor Rust myself.
assuming everyone has sprint as default AA? it'd be awesome if someone made COD slayer gametype where the health goes down as just as fast and recharges at the same speed. with lower jump as well
I do not approve. BTW: I think MW2 if much quicker paced than halo 3 so 70% speed is going to feel... wrong. Also you jump almost 3 times as high in halo as in MW2. therefore by 250% player gravity is going to be ridiculous.
Do you understand how the gravity works? Also, the map is tiny so any faster and people will be bouncing around high above it. --- Anyone here?
Unfortunately even with the expanded Halo: Reach toolset there aren't many options for rounded pipes, columns, tubes, etc which MW2 Rust seems to feature. Does anyone have any tricks to make things appear more rounded or will maps like this always end up looking somewhat angular and blocky? But don't get me wrong thecairocat, this looks like a great attempt and I'm impressed with what I see. I'd look forward to playing it. Keep up the good work.
This looks nice and all but don't you think this is a kind of small remake, and there is a whole lot of empty area, there nothing in an entire corner of the map. HTis looks nice, but I think that your scale is off slightly.
