In response to the original topic: I too have been expecting a little more from the BWU but I don't think its because they're getting worse. Go look at the updates before the release of Halo 3, none of them were that long. Perhaps just a page of writing on average. But of course that was back when Bungie was much more secretive and there was much more mystery to their games. But we've already seen lots of things in Reach, not many surprises left The one thing I'm hoping is that if the space battles were going to be a cool surprise for the player but they still announced it, then there must be some other moments in Campaign which are just as cool and surprising.
To be honest, what the hell more can they have given you? Every week you guys expect some mind blowing reveal. It cannot be done. Its two weeks before the damn release, they are just waiting patiently to see the reaction the world has to all their hard work the last 2-3 years, and you're bitching because they didn't blow your mind AGAIN. This company has crammed more **** into this game than any other before it, and still, its not enough for some people. Look at Black Ops... merely 2-3 months before that comes out, and we haven't seen jack **** about it. Give them an inch, and they'll take a mile. I swear.
I honestly enjoyed the update. What can you expect them to do? They've pretty much revealed everything except the campaign to the point of showing it all to you. I can guarantee that they're not going to show you mission by mission the entire campaign because it would ruin the entire surprise of it. Honestly you guys should be thankful that Bungie even has the weekly updates. Most game companies show you one trailer a month away from release and then you have to see the rest when you buy the game.
Are these pants getting tighter, or am I just getting fatter? It's not their updates that are getting worse, but your sense of entitlement. Do you want them to add another chainsaw to the ****-storm of activities they are trying to juggle right now? Or do you want the launch to go smoothly, and to get some awesome updates next week, and all the other insane events and things the Bungie staff are planning/ doing right now? I count two maps missing, and I'd be remiss if I didn't expect to hear about them *really* soon.
They included 13. 13 balanced, tested, and differing maps: and that isn't enough? I have no doubts that they'll be high quality either, they're Bungie maps no matter how they were made. Not to mention there are two maps you haven't seen, so you are being prejudgemental.
Bungie doesn't have to give you ANY weekly updates. A majority of studios don't fill you in on anything except for trailers (Black Ops). And a lot of the Bungie Weekly Updates aren't even about their games. People who really are die hard fans of halo, like a majority of the people on this site really should be grateful that Bungie even gives us weekly updates.
