Maybe this has been done before, but I had an idea for a forge switch and I wanted to show it. First of all look at the image: Beautiful Graphics To help you understand: The yellow sphere is a custom powerup The Green is a crate The blue are spawns The Custom Powerup is a switch that drops the crate the crate drop creates a path on the upper level Obviously this is a tiny demonstration model, and when integrated it would most likely span an entire map. It would be for a one sided objective gametype, like one bomb or linear infection. It would be used to get maximum play time and space out of the area for small or high-aesthetic maps. I am working on a variant where the person who grabs the powerup is killed when they do it, but the team cannot move on unless it is taken. post post!
Yah, done before. It was called the vehicle door or something to that extent. -Yoyo's Note: No Advertising Kudos for thinking about the idea yourself though.
A map idea for this could be a tactical objective game, where the teams have limited lives. You could make the custom power-up take your shields away and make you extremely weak for as long as possible, but by unlocking a secret passage you give your team a better chance at completing the objective.
A tester guild guy getting blocked? That's funny. --- Yeah, that sounds right. I was also thinking about it for infection. One man sacrificing himself for the good of the group, Spock style.
I like the idea, didn't think of it before. It's pretty cool and they wouldn't have to necessarily sacrifice themselves in infection to help the team, the guys up top could cover him. BTW; Use Mick & Bartoge's sketchup stuff. The sketchup u made looked a little ugly.
I like to see people designing switches. But as people before me have stated, this is a quite basic switch and has been done before (then again what switch hasn't). Message me if you wanna learn how to make some super awesome switches.
