First off, you're a douche. Now, unlike people who spend 6 hours a day playing a game, I may only play for an hour or two a day. Also, 'the dumbest excuse'? It's something completely out of my control. Yet, after all of this, you call me ungrateful? It's people like you that take the fun out of games, not me, because it's apparent from the attitude you have here that you're probably the biggest asshole when you don't get your way.
I can't wait for my real-life friends to get pissed and quit games multiple times like they usually do and then get banned for a while, so that I can laugh and continue playing without them.
I would just hope the people with terrible connections (ROCHE178) don't get this temporary ban. It's out of their control. Hopefully they can differentiate who is legitimately quitting and who is being disconnected because of their terrible connection. On another note, it's funny seeing people getting so mad over this issue lol.
How pleasant! When you make the game miserable for other people, with or without the intention to, and persist on playing, knowing that it will happen again, it IS in your control, and a 30 minute ban is justified. Bungie does not want people with rage/ self-entitlement issues to constantly quit out of games, and the best way to do that is with a timed ban. When people start getting banned for repeated quitting "My router disconnects me" is going to be the go-to excuse used by rage quitters, mark my words. It is your responsibility to ensure you have a good enough connection to play without frequently cutting out, and it's Bungie's to ensure people have fun matchmaking. Maybe we can go paddle boating sometime? EDIT: It's pretty awesome Shanon.
I personally think that COD has the best matchmaking system. If you quit you don't lose anything because your team usually gets someone else pretty quickly. Also at the end of the game, you don't have to re-search for the same set of people, you save those 3 minutes and play more games with them.
Lemme consider that.... no. Unless you're gonna pay for my new router, that's fine. @Xavier, LOL i know rite?
The problem with rage quitters is bad so making them pay for offences is perfectly fine with me, but Bungie should modify the quitban to cause fewer problem for people with network difficulties. I get host in 90% of games, it's just when they do network maintenance which is surprisingly often. If you think it is in my power to pay an extra $50 a month to get internet that has fewer failures you are quite mistaken. If, however, you are willing to give me that money I will gladly pay for a connection that drops my xbox less.
I am perfectly fine with the Quit Ban Im not to sure on what hte official details are yet but...... If for "any reason at all" you end up leaving 3 games, thats 21 people that you have messed up the game for. so I dont really care why you left, and i doubt anyone else does either, all i know is that by you leaving....you have ruined the competitive aspect of that particular game. PS: for all you people that keep saying stuff like "well then give me money and ill get a better connection". 1. No 2. for saying something so stupid like that i honestly hope the ban is longer for people like you, who refuse to fix their connection/modem problem, and then complain about the consequences.
The only reason you would quit a game now is because of a crap host connection. Everything you do now earns you credits so why quit?
Recently been playing H3, and my connection is suddenly horrid in that game. I can play all other games with a good connection, which includes monday night combat (a known lag-fest). At random intervals, my conncetion will drop to 1 bar, I won't be kicked from the game though. I can still talk to everyone on my team/lobby with no voice issues at all and once I die I become unable to spawn (though my teammates say I have spawned, I'm just standing still). It seems to be during the first 50% of the game i get a full green bar, last 50% red single bar. This happens the same way with 4 players as it does 16. I can play campaign/forge/custom games without an issue. My connection is of a much higher quality than when I first started playing H3 2.5 years ago, and my NAT type is now definitely open (it was moderate in the past). It was suggested that the only problem I was h aving was due to servers for H3 being taken down in time for reach. The problem didn't occur in the reach beta, either. If this does occur in Reach I won't be too pleased (as I'll be forced to go play MW2 again, and no one wants that.) My only option during a game will be to look at my corpse for 5 minutes straight as leaving will get me banned Besides this though, I'm all for the ban. One of my biggest peeves during H3 was people quitting during a game such as CTF or assault, dooming us to fail.
My connection started lagging like crazy during the Beta... to the point where I couldn't stream, or play Halo 3. I started checking my router and noticed a load of pings from various IP addresses numerous times during the day. I suspect it was kids using bots to host kick/lag my connection. I started doing IP traces on all of the IPs in my router logs and contacted all of the abuse teams for those Internet Providers stating that those addresses were being used to host boot my connection. I also emailed my Internet Provider's network team and showed them my router log and asked them to change my IP address. My connection is back up and running.
Thats the thing though, its /only/ H3 matchmaking that is the problem. I can stream other games for my friends, be in party chat, play other games etc without any problems. I checked what you suggested last night, just in case. I even got my IP changed (simple 30 second router reset here does it) and no change at all. I'm holding onto the 'its only H3' thing here, as reach isn't H3 edit: Its also worth mentioning last night During TGIF all my xp/games played had vanished. When I signed into bungie.net and checked my stats it instantly returned ingame. It was kinda amusing having 0xp and skill.
Eh, I'm fine with it being on a 3-Strikes System. As long as it isn't something like 45 Minutes. and if the "strikes" Vanish after say, 30 Minutes. also, lol @ the kids flaming the people who don;t support it, they have good reasons.
I'm glad they instituted it, nothing worse than being outgunned in team slayer because someone decide they don't like the map or gametype that was chosen.
Had a few games of MM today and the connection was PERFECT. I won't give my judgement till later tonight (7pm~) on how its going though. If it holds up then I'm all for the quitter ban
I'm entirely for the quit ban. If you have a bad connection, you'll have 30 minutes to figure out how to fix it. If you're a rage quitter, you'll have 30 minutes to calm down. However, if you need to do something irl that comes up, you'll quit one game. Even if you do end up being banned for 30 minutes, you'll be doing that thing that came up instead of on your xbox, waiting for the ban to go away.
