The first map I make will probably be infection. The humans spawn in the very back of the Coliseum. First of all, they will have to run as fast as they can towards the Falcons and Banshees, ready for takeoff. If they don't run fast enough, then fusion coils and such will spawn near them, killing them. If they do run fast enough, they will make it to the air vehicles and fly out of there quickly. The zombie will be on a ledge outside and will spawn with a Plasma Launcher and a sniper rifle. The Zombie's damage modifier will make it so that they don't destroy the Falcons or Banshees in one fire. The humans will land on the island and if they are smart enough, they will hide under cover behind a rock pile. The humans then have a few Mongooses to explore the island, find weapons and hiding spots. After a minute or two, stairs will spawn so that the infected can get up to a custom powerup (that will allow the zombie to do more damage) and teleporter that leads to the island. From then, the zombie will have to kill all of the humans. It will take quite a few shots to kill the zombie, so if people team up, it will be easier. If anybody decides to take a Falcon/Banshee to avoid the zombie, the zombie can use his Plasma Launcher to take it down. Everybody only has one life. The zombie has unlimited ammo. The humans will have limited ammo and the armor ability, sprint, to get out of the Coliseum or run away from the zombie on the island. I will make sure the humans die if they don't make it out in time. Any suggestions?
I have an assault gametype. It is Spartan v.s Spartan The rogue spartans spawn at the entrance of a complex which holds a lot of things which are important to the UNSC, such as memory cores. The rogue spartans have to get to the memory cores and destroy them by planting a bomb. UNSC spartan loudouts: Scout Primary: DMR Secondary: Magnum Armor Ability: Sprint Airborne Primary: Assault Rifle Secondary: Magnum Armor Ability: Jetpack Guard Primary: Shotgun Secondary: Assault Rifle Armor Ability: Armor Lock Medic Primary: DMR Secondary: Assault Rifle Armor Ability: Drop Shield Rouge Spartan Loudouts: Recon Primary: DMR Secondary: Assault Rifle Armor Ability: Sprint Ninja Primary: Energy Sword Secondary: Assault Rifle Armor Ability: Active Camo Breacher Primary: Grenade Laucher Secondary: Magnum Armor Ability: Armor Lock Decoy Primary: Assault Rifle Secondary: DMR Armor Ability: Hologram
The first map i will make, because i strive to be unique, and whenever i can get to my friends house < u <.... Anyways, the first map will be a full 2 base map layout, but turned completely on its side, and attached to a cliff face.
Invasion map As my first map using the invasion gametype, i will build an airbase in the interior space. With aircraft mostly and an armoury. On the other side of the map will be a good sized base with warthogs and mongooses and maybe one or two aircraft, and also an armoury. The fight will be on seveal points on the map leading to the base. The second map idea i have will is an airborne operation of the island, again, i will use the airbase in the interior. There will be a base with turrets and vehicles to defend it.
Here's my map idea for Reach, it's helicopter view and will be a sky map: If the walls are the same color as the ground, it means there's no walls there, just guardrails. Tell me what you guys think
Nah, I'm too lazy to do it in Sketchup. It takes too long and it's not fun. Basically, the center is a huge tower with a catwalk (black) near the top of it. The pink 'islands' are sniper points that float a little bit higher than the light blue area to give a vantage point. And it does. I'm very happy with the shape
Levels as in level of heighth, my bad. For example, the green walkways slope up to the blue. Access to the pink spots are via teleporters with the appropriate number. Same with black catwalk. Green spot in middle is accessible by dropping down to it.
Seems like a linear map with little/no cover. Kindof boring it would seem maybe give it a gaurdian feel with multiple walkways, but you can JETPACK!
I didn't implement cover into the layout yet, it's only walls and floors right now. But I of course will take advice and give it more of a guardian feel Maybe add an entire bottom mid.
Just add multiple paths to take. That makes maps really fun because you can use different strategies. Not just go forward and shoot.
You're right, thanks I'll probably add a bottom mid and connect the entire outer circle maybe add some more catwalks in and around the tower, too
If you make a map that feels like guardian i ask of you to link me. I loved guardian but i dont want it to be remade cause of the different look it will bring.
A map with a Frigate the attackers attack from. A map using the whole(or maybe just half) of the map with two space ships high above the ground. A map on the rock where the platforms and stuff like that goes around and above the rock. A boarding action remake (not 100% like the original) A city map. A city map for infection. a good start, right?
You should actually focus on one idea. Those are just cool idea what will probably never come true.. no offense
Last night, I had a dream about Halo Reach. I was playing a Team Slayer map on this map I had never seen before. It looked like it was floating in the air, somewhere in Forge World. Anyways, I thought, why not make this map when the game comes out? Both Teams spawn at the top of a hill. They basically have to go down and fight the enemy. I might have got this idea from that one Grifball map where you spawn in the air and theres a 7-Wood.
I think you should start out only focusing on the city map (infection or not doesn't really matter) because that sounds like the best place to start using forge in Reach to me. Sounds like the most basic out of your options. Also the city map would be amazing if the buildings had windows to snipe and stuff, like that Halo 2 map that I forgot the name of. The one with the multi level parking lot with the spectre in it
I'm definitely not starting with basic. I'm gonna do my best to make my first map seem like a Bungie-made map so it will stand out amongst other creations.
