Sandbox Turtle

    The first thing you will notice about Turtle is the unique V shape, I remember playing on a crazy map on foundry, the crazy map that would give me headaches, I got the idea for this from that map but Turtle is alot more gentle on the headache giving. This map was not easy to make, by far this is the most ambitious map I have made, coming in and out of Forge 50 times is tiring but in the end its worth it. One of the annoying things I had to face when making the map suitable for different gametypes was trying to place the hill markers for KOTH, every time I would attempt to place them they would spiral out of control but there is always a way around it.(Placing it on a wall, Lawl) And yes interlocking was involved :).

    This map is made for 8 players or less and works well on FFA Slayer, Oddball and KOTH.

    I like your design very much. Did you interlock at all? Also, can you add more to the description? Like how you started the map, what bugged you, or how to play a specific gametype you made for it!

    Anyways, I'm downloading to give you a review on your work.

    P.S. Is this inspired by that little area in Sandtrap?

    Are the sides just flat enough to climb because that would make the gameplay fairly interesting. This map seems very open though.

    You can indeed walk on the sides and i had some play tests its really not that open when your on the map.

    I'll give you points for creativity, but this map seems a little too open. Then again, it seems like you might've been going for fast-paced nonsense. But, since this is the the competitive maps forum, I'd suggest adding some cover

    Yea like everyone said, an increase in cover would be nice but an easier way to do that would be mulitiple hills. Im trying to think about how u could do this and i am getting headaches thinking about it, similar to the ones i got when I played "Distortion" for the first time.     Don't listen to everyone's complaints about adding cover. Playing a game with brs, there was plenty of cover. The one thing you do need help with are the spawns. First of all there needs to be more because it's very easy to predict the spawns and spawn trap. Secondly, they need to be placed in safe spots. Instead of having a spawn on top of a stone platform, try placing the spawn behind the stone platform. Also there are a bit too many power weapons. And there's no need for more than two types of grenades as they usually end up confusing people. The map is extremely creative, and fairly well built for having no merging. I really hope you don't lose your creative touch in Reach, and I'll be looking foward to more from you.

    This map has real potential so I'll download and give some more feedback, but from the layout, it seems like generally long range battles so the mauler, gravity hammer and other close range weapons won't be that effective. A brute shot could work wonders here because shooting at the enemies feet would be easy. Mancannons would be better that teleporters since players could shoot down during flight and would be less disoriented after landing.

    The mauler and gravity hammer seemed useless since they require very close range that is generally not available on this map. All the other weapons were well balanced, but there really was a slight lack of cover that made the BR slightly overpowered (as usual). The brute shot maybe should replace the rocket launcher since the rockets were downright overpowering. The only other problem I found was the bumps because the blocks were not interlocked, but didn't cause too much of a problem (no grenades lost). Overall this map is great, and gameplay is fast even with two players. It reminds me of Swordbase.

    Wow, just wow.
    This map is fairly awesome, heavy weapons (drools)

    Whoops looks like I'm drowning in my own pool of drool :O
    I wonder how mongooses and ghosts will act in this map?

    Map was so FUN to play on. Sniping my freinds give you the evil fun feeling when you are being beast. I would love to see a remake of Distortion on Sandbox. That would make me jizz in my pants

    I am like you, I don't use intorlocked because I have a disease called "laziness". This is truly inspration to me because it shows the amazing stuff you can do without merging. I am truly inspired.

    I like it! Looks to me a little like a puzzle, for example the pieces fit in just right, I've also seen some maps just like this except completely boxed in, in a crooked manor. Anyway, great job! Pretty good map.

    Loved the MAP. Hated the weapons, mainly like a rocket, a hammer and firebomb grenades.

    I think you should fix that. I like how you didn't interlock, I don't a whole lot.
