What do you think of this new setting in a Bioshock game? I think that the only way they can pull this off is by making it not about the setting, but instead just using the setting to give a unique and new look to a FPS. In the other Bioshocks they used the under water setting perfectly. The game was focused on the gameplay and story and not on the setting, but they used the setting to just make it that much better.

I love the idea of the sky city. I just hope that the campaign that comes with it is as good as the other bioshock campaigns.

I dunno if I like the idea of it being a prequel...1912? IN THE SKY?! Seems too far fetched for my liking, but I still look forward to the gameplay.

It's a thematic "prequel" but not a narrative one, at least that hasn't been confirmed yet. I love the idea of not continuing the story from bioshock but continuing the same misplaced utopian ideal.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with rapture, but I think it would be cool to maybe meet one of the main characters of BioShock in Columbia. It could tell a little about the beginning of rapture, but they shouldn't make it tied to the main storyline. Maybe you go through a apartment building or something and go through Andrew Ryan's apartment and find some audio logs that explains some of rapture's backstory. I'm glad that they aren't making this around the story of rapture though, but it would be cool to BioShock fans more of BioShock's amazing story.

it has nothing to do with rapture, i dont think its even set within the same fictional universe as rapture. and the whole mood will be a lot different too. columbia was a public, government created program while rapture was made in secret by andrew ryan. i do think the whole excessive nationalism will be interesting in the story.

buut its not coming out for a while i dont really know what i think yet

We can still assume it takes place in the past, that's just their thing. Also, maybe some sort of power that involves growing plants? When the roses grew in the trailer this thought came to mind. And the Big Daddy can fly.... I know it.

And I would assume a release date somewhere late next year.

Oh I didn't notice that, I stopped watching and restarted the video close to the end.

    Early 2012 :D Mwhahaha

And apparently the Big Daddy want something to do with your future bride. Or maybe a higher power controlling the B.D. again?

I have been a fan of both of the bioshocks and so far I am not disappointed at all. Even if your some die hard fan of the underwater theme I think what really pulls people in is the unique environment. This city in the sky was a really good idea and I think it will be better then being underwater.

I think the underwater city was amazing because of the environmental hazards. I know they didn't really use the water to affect a level much, but still it was cool thinking you're in a underwater city that's falling apart. Think about what they can do in the sky! A building is falling from the sky and it might be rotating or something. Think about how amazing that gameplay would be!

exactly... it even looks like the tuned up the graphics a little. I am already taken and will be getting this game for sure. Also did I miss the date it releases because I didn't see any date?

They haven't announced a date yet, but they did say sometime in 2012. I think they just said that so they don't promise a early release, but then they have to change it because the game is not done. It's probably going to release in 2011.

I don't think so. I just think they said it so they didn't say a date that they couldn't complete the game by, but we'll see.
