I just taught my mom for the 18th time how to import pictures on the computer. This is the microsoft word writeup I just made for her.... Spoiler 1. Insert memory card 2. Wait for the blue screen to pop up 3. Exit the blue screen 4. Go to menu that has now popped up 5. Select “Open Folder to View Files” 6. Double-click “DCIM” 7. Double-click “101MSCDF” 8. Down on the bottom left hand corner, click on the circle with multiple colors 9. Now click “pictures” (it will be under the border collie) 10. Right click in any white space between folders 11. Move the mouse over “New” 12. Wait for another menu to pop up, and click “Folder” 13. Just start typing a title, DO NOT CLICK ANYWHERE 14. Click once on the folder. It will alphabetize. 15. Find the folder and double click it. 16. Move the mouse over the small folder icon on the bottom (to the right of the internet) 17. A small window with two images will pop up, click the left one (it will say 101MSCDF) 18. Scroll ALL THE WAY down. 19. Click on the first picture you want. 20. Hold SHIFT (on the keyboard) 21. Click on the last picture 22. Right click on any of the pictures. 23. Hit “Copy” 24. Move the mouse over the small folder icon again 25. This time when the window pops up, you want the right one (it will have your title) 26. Right click in the white space 27. Click “Paste” Voila! The pictures are on the computer.
Stouf, my mom is still a tard too and can't import pictures for the life of her...she's so bad when it comes to the computer and interwebs.
I have three instances which prove my mom is the least computer knowledgeable mom here. "It says hit any key. Wheres the any key?" "I keep hitting exiting user and it wont exit" (This was when I played runescape in middle school. She was clicking existing user) "The printer isn't working!" (I walk out to the den, look at the printer, turn it on, and leave) Oh and I tried explaining what using a different browser was. Apparently she thinks Internet explorer, MSN.com, and the internet are the same thing.
Yeah... that's pretty pathetic. Ask her what an operating system is. I've asked some people my age and they don't even know.
Wait... MSN, Internet Explorer and the Internet AREN'T the same thing? Also, that first one CAN'T be real. Honestly, it's a joke not something O don't think someone would be stupid enough to do... Unless shes like 80, then it make sense. Also, send her to smouch.net/lol to really mind**** her.
My favorite thing to tell computer illiterate people: "It would probably work better if you plugged it in."
