I have had an ingenious plan to aid the makers and remakers of maps. Nostalgia Gametypes Nostalgia gametypes are remakes of all of the gametypes from the previous Halo games. For Example, Halo 3 Slayer would feature 80 percent gravity, 120 percent speed, 110 percent damage and only one loadout with no AA, an AR and DMR and two frags. This would make the older Halo maps feel really authentic. Playing Blood Gulch with Halo CE Slayer would really feel like you were back in the old game. Many people complain that AA's and such will ruin old maps, but this need not be the case with the Nostalgia gametype. It would be just like playing the maps on the outdated game, but with an increased framerate and better graphics. However, here is my dilemma. I am just one guy. I do not know every little difference from Reach that all other Halo games have. So, I put, to the community, tell me. I will compile a list of every gametype ever, with the CE, 2 and 3 twists, including the newer introduced gametypes, such as CE Infection. When Reach falls, I will create each and every one of these gametypes for the community to play and enjoy. <NOTE> Halo 2 and 3 will need to be played as Elites, due to Spartan III having a different health system and size.
I think that the only things worth changing is to lower the jump height, disable falling damage, and take away AAs. Those are the only three things that are needed to make the gameplay of remakes better. Example: Trick jumps on Guardian, Prevent people from jetpacking out of Blood Gulch (or on parts of the map not intended for use), No falling damage on Construct.
People wont be able to jetpack out of blood gulch because of the death barrier. And i think the only gametype worth being make is a CE one
oh, the old Halo CE CTF on blood gulch...so much brutal awesomeness. definitely making that gametype. dibs.
A lot of people will make this gametype I'm going to as well and remake some easy levels from other halo games if one hasn't been made already just for my personal use.
could we please focus. what are the differences in the spartan's traits and the weapons (providing there is weapon trait editing) from the previous games!
He mentioned quite a bit of them in the OP... And weapon trait editing will not happen. Go back to Dothalo
I AM the OP. But like I said in it, what are some of the differences from Halo Reach to the old games. I only know some of the changes from Halo 3 to Reach, and a miniscule amount of Halo CE and 2 to Reach, because I have played, but do not own either game. Could you please tell me any of the changes I have missed. PS: Halo 2 and Halo 3 versions would only be playable as Elites, due to their similar health system and size. PPS: With this information, I will compile a list of the gametypes in the OP, featuring all default gametypes with their Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 variants
Yes, I actually did. But it's not on Halopedia or any other Wiki, there are very few other pages on the internet documenting every change from each game to Reach and it is impossible to know everything from videos.
Random...for now i guess your best bet will be (us) or just testing them yourself if you have the games. Its really hard to get a statistical stat difference if you want i can try borrowing my friends halo 1 and halo 2. and i can make a video where they all three walk with similair camera angles. and i edit it so that they all run once on screen with three boxes labeling What games what. But i dont have reach. so the method im going to use will be pointless.
i dont even want stats. just tell me things like "in halo ce, spartans could xxxx about half the speed"
Damn.....im sorry i cant really do that. And you dont want to spam create threads since this ones dieing.
yeh it is a bit. ill bring it back up when reach comes out. with the massive influx of new people joining, itll probably be swamped, but ill be happy cos i can play the gametypes i make. ill pm you the gametypes when theyre made if you want.
Ummm the games going to be shipped with a classic slayer gametype so that should be good enough. And bungie already said they increased player speed and jump hieght from the beta so it feels more like the other halos. And it really is a waste of time creating these gametypes. Its not that huge of a change that we need an entirely seperate gametype that really doesnt change a lot. We should be fine just turning off loadouts and changing start weapons.
He still wants to recreate that "classic feel" and if the gametypes are included then his job is done..
