he didnt mean the textures and colors and look of the pieces, he meant the geometry of the maps. with towers and walkways, i think he meant like that lockout type of floating map. this definitely not the case, as there will always be creativity, as well as all the different areas we have.

I kinda doubt we'll be able to make different objects movable or immovable. I mean we know they (unintentionally or intentionally) tricked us at least once in the vidoc with the whole moving gravity illusion thing, so they may have tricked us again with the killballs and dragon thing... Just putting it out there :/

Just about all objects can be set to phased, fixed, or normal. What we saw is very possible.

But that doesnt mean if you have a double block set to normal that you can move it with say a grenade or a rocket. Some objects no matter what are immovable. As for the killball i think it will be moveable, and they had it set to fixed while forging. So at the start of the match in an actual game it worked much like a drop spawn we use for weapons.

do you think that some objects will change from fixed to normal depending on their setting?
also, people are going to spend hours and hours messing with all the different options in forge until they can create some sort of item limit glitch. what if we have to overload the map, and than budget wont matter?
and as far as the lockout comparison goes, they did have some pieces they created for that purpose.
i feel like they tried to make maps, and when they needed a piece they put it in their. thats the best way to determine what us forgers need.

Anyone know or would hazard a guess on Weapon holders being brought back from Halo 3? Those gave so many uses.

They may think we won't need them now that we might be able to have fixed weapons a la the Sword in Halo 2.

Weapons will still be movable, all fixed would do is make it spawn in the air.

    Nah.
They said you can make moveable objects fixed with the fixed (dur)
so that will deffiantly apply for weapons.

Has anyone noticed there are guide lines/markings/lines that appear on objects when being merged into the map a certain depth, perhaps half way? Im not sure how to describe it, its in this video, and appears as a few yellow lines on the edges of the pyramid object when he merges it.

Can't wait to get forging :)

What if I want the weapon being switched to stay off the ground as well? Then I am screwed.

    Like i said.
You can make them float with fixed.
    or normal with Normal.
    (phased weapons into the map?)

Let me get this straight. You assume that The starting AR that I switched for the floating DMR will magically float in the air because of what? It wanted to be like the cool gun and be hip and float too? Me thinks you are not getting my question.

exactly why I asked if anyone had seen a glimpse of it yet. It's sorta a needed thing for one of my map ideas. No problem anyway. It's cool I figured you didn't quite get me.

I dont think thats going to happen.
That would put a strain on the game engine and its a semi useless feature.
(unless you care to enlighten me on the idea)
