    Not sure if the prices of objects has been discussed yet, but here we go again. The budget is probably around 10000 (based off the vidoc and footage from comic-con). I've noticed that pieces are MUCH more expensive than before.
    Regular type blocks = 10
    Larger blocks =100
    Massive blocks = 150
    Killball = 100
    Golfball = 100
    Tin cup = 100
    Teleporters = 100
    Colour effects = 250
    Coloured lights = 250
    One-way shield door = 100

    Now I don't doubt for a second that we won't still be able to place MORE pieces than before, but reading some of these posts, I don't think people realize the prices of these pieces.

    thats just stupid. i cant believe they cost so much! this is basically bungie trying to make us seem like we got way more pieces by just inflating the price. thats really made me ANGRY!

    Heres hoping for ultimate budget glitch!
    I thinkt eh objects are fairly overpriced tbh. I don't know why they would allow for more pieces yet not allow you to use more pieces? Just makes no sense.

    I wouldn't get MAD about it! lol. I just think people expect to be able to build MASSIVE amounts of things, and will be surprised when they try it out.

    Yeah I noticed this the first time I watched the vidoc. Things like AA are 50 and structures are 150. I think what they wanted to do was make some type of block cost to structure cost to weapon cost ratio. The easiest way to do this ratio was probably to up the prices and work in 5's. Since they upped all the prices, they upped the budget.

    All in all, we'll be able to place more objects, even with the inflation.

    To go BEYOND just the prices..... has anybody noticed the object limits yet? Its different this time around, each section has its own individual object limit. Example:
    Regular blocks = 99

    That means I can build 99 doubleblocks, but by doing that I've used up my object limit for that section, and I can't build anything else for that section. So while I might be able to build 99 double-blocks instead of 40, I now can't build any more large blocks, or Huge blocks or tall blocks, ect. So in Sandbox I could've built 40 double, 40 large, 30 huge, 30 tall, 40 double wall, ect.......

    I guess we'll just have to wait and see how all this works out!

    They upped the prices about 50% that means if we take 10000 in half we still have 5000 budget... I want ultimate budget glitch tho...

    Teleporters were $5, now they're $100. I don't think all objects are just doubled.

    using the teleporter as a base, we can still build about 3 times we could before. I dunno tho, im probs rong
    ---
    i dont even want the canvas, just a completely empty map. no land or sea or anything. just a massive skybox

    I hope so! That would be sweet if we could build 2 or even 3 times as much stuff!

    .. Block on sandbox = $5, on forgeworld, with 6.67x the budget, costs $10.
    I don't see the issue. We've worked with much tighter budget problems before, and now the object limit has been cranked up; so we really shouldn'y have a problem for a while.

    There isn't any real problems. And yes a block is $5 on Sandbox and $10 on Forgeworld, but many other items are MUCH more than twice the price.
    Teleporters used to be 5, now 100 = 20x
    Effects used to be 15 , now 250 = 16.7x
    Lights used to be 20, now 250 =12.5x
    Killballs used to be 4, now 100 = 25x
    Sheild doors used to be 15, now 100 = 6.7

    Combined with the new OBJECT LIMIT system (for each category)....
    No issues, we'll all figure it out, I was just bringing this to people's attention because some people's assumption of Forgeworld seems unrealistic.

    Well, Teleporters can cover a bigger area, explaining that. Effects are a bit more drastic, like the purple one, but yea that is a big price. There are flashing lights, would that make sense to use up more of the budget for?

    IDK but i still thing we will be able to place at least 1.5X what we have on sandbox

    Its really not going to be a problem at all. Theres no reason to build giant maps and try and use every dollar and object. A lot of the maps shown in vids take up about half of the budget. So i think well have plenty of objects and money to build good maps. And the largest map i can see being made within the budget is a Headlong remake.

    Many of the new strctures and what not would have taken 5 or 6 or more regular blocks to create on sandbox as well, it's a fair price. When we get to forge world, try making the tower from lockout (which is provided) out of regular blocks and see what ends up being cheaper.

    Also, we don't have as large of a selection for killballs or lights or teleporters and whatnot so those prices are also fair IMO. Maybe there is a per category budget and they just had to get to that, which in turn, would make some objects noticeably more expensive.

    This is barely going to be a problem. The new structures are way more complex and would have been just as expensive to build piece-by-piece in Sandbox. Yeah, I am kinda scratching my head at the cost of teleporters and lights and whatnot, but I'm not concerned. I mean, look at all the cool examples of what can be built in Forgeworld that Bungie posted in an update a few weeks ago. Plus, in that quick video of the Acension remake that's floating around, there's still $5,000+ left for budget.
