I found the ones on CE a lot easier than any of the other games. In fact, my first play through on the PC version I just kept my pistol because A) I didn't know how to switch weapons yet (lol), and B) I thought the pistol was weak (in all other games, pistols are weak, why not Halo? :p). But then, I ran out of AR ammo, so I paused and asked my bro how to switch weapons, and he told me, so I switched to it. I thought I was going to have a rough time with it, but surprisingly, it died way quicker than it did with my AR! At that point, I was convinced my AR had weakened it. Then, I find another Hunter, and I wanted to see if my theory of the AR weakening it was true. I was, obviously, wrong :p

To those people who say on CE they were hard, I don't think so. I say the H3 Hunters were, by far, harder. Why would they throw a whole bunch of pairs of them at you in H2 around the end when they're that strong? With H3 throwing them at you like, let me see, what, thrice? If I'm not mistaken, I only remember them on The Storm, The Ark and The Covenant. They weren't on Floodgate because that was reserved for the debut of the H3 flood, they weren't on Cortana or High Charity or whatever that mission's called, and they definitely weren't on Halo.

In CE, they appeared once on Truth and Reconciliation, thrice or more on Silent Cartographer, never on 343 Guilty Spark, not on The Library, and then came back once or twice on Two Betrayals, and then were there twice or more on The Maw.

H2 had them appear on Outskirts (which was rather easy with the machine gun mounted on the roof, and the weapon-tradable Marine with a Sniper Rifle sitting there), and then were there somewhere on whatever that mission's called where you kill the Prophet (I think, anyways.) and then they were there a whole bunch when you're MC on High Charity (the place, I don't know which missions). I'm pretty sure I saw a lot of them when my bro was playing one of those High Charity missions and he was running by them, and then as he ran through the level he had streams of green flying past him.

And then ODST had then the same strength as H3, but the fact that you're an ODST makes them harder. But I don't count how strong you are in the game, it's how strong the Hunters are in the game.

yea, Hunters have pretty much never lived up to how badass they look.

I swear they're like giant walking retards with some hard spots.

And opposed to what someone said, I found them a lot easier to take down in Halo CE than in an other halo game considering in all other ones they actually use minimal amount of defensive strategy.

Yeah, I know! They look awesome, but they are only hard to either A) new players on Normal or above, or B) you're on Legendary. I actually didn't find them strong on Heroic, even on ODST (I recently attempted Endure, and we were sooooo close at Set 3, Round 2, Wave 3 :p).

The toughest thing I've found about Hunters is that they're hard to build with Legos (It's a little hobby of mine; I still haven't built a Hunter).

It'd be cool if you ran up their back and cracked their neck.

That wouldn't work they are like squids they have no bones lol. That's the whole discussion really if you follow the Lekgolo its just a bunch of worms, they also make up scarabs, and the giant brown looking hunters in Halo ODST. Just alot of worms so how do you kill them? Fire? a bullet would do damage but a big bullet kills (aka Sniper) so why would the Dagger kill?
