Is anyone else getting the error message: 'An attempt was made to access a file past its end.' when trying to import the models? If so what's the fix? Thanks
Whoa, you guys are awesome! It's really cool you guys have been doing this. Nice Nick! Hopefully it gets featured on the Bnet. It deserves to be. I remember (vaguely) listening to a podcast or reading somewhere about how the Bungie employees where blown away that people had already made sketch up items for sandbox before it came out. Plus if you were any more awesome it might tear the space time continuum of AWESOME! I do all my modeling and sketching in my MIND!! . . . wait maybe that's why my maps suck. . . but no really, I do think I'm able to get a pretty accurate idea of how a map is going to be, just by picturing it mentally. And then I've already told you guys that I have like, SEVEN maps already done in mind. And when Reach comes out it's going to be like an explosion of AWESOME!!!!! . . . alright that's probably enough for now. . it's probably not a good idea to post too much more when I'm this drunk/hung over. . . uhg. . what did . .I just type. . .
LOL!!^ But yeah seriously...we all have tons of maps in our head. Which is why the halo reach map section will get flooooooded
Really realy awesome Mick. This will help so much. Maps in Reach are going to pop up like crazy when it releases now that we have this simple planning tool. Woop!
Really appreciate this Mick. Nice job working with peices only from pictures. Forge World Vidoc MICK: GO TO 3:53-3:54 where that block is being moved. You titled this block, block, window, when it is not a window. You might have thought that was a window because you paired it with another, larger fin-like object. It's more of a thin corner block peice. Just thought you should know, no need to go and change it.
I would love to but the scaling is so confusing that we really have no basis for size. It's first on our list for the complete set, don't worry.
I fooled around a bit with everything. I think this turned out pretty well actually. Here's some pictures.
Lol i fail at using sketchup.... its funny because i have to use 3D modelling software for my school work but yet i cant use sketchup...
just a small question. where are the vehicle. i cannot see the mongoose, revenant, falcon, etc. is the scale not known?
The scale isn't known, but also those items are really, really unnecessary additions to a sketchup. Geometry is the biggest thing you want to deal with in the planning stages, make sure your map can support vehicles before you get too caught up in where the vehicles will spawn.
I know a few people who are experiencing a problem when trying to import the models. It says something along the lines of.... 'An attempt was made to access a file past its end.'
