Just a thought, but do you think that they might allow you to change the time of day, like make it Nighttime, or Sunset, or even Sunrise?
They gave us lots of FX's that could be used to simulate different times of day apparently. But officially no. They need the Crysis engine.
if you set FX to a timer, then yes, you can change the time of day (or at least how it looks) but not officially.
On the topic of FX, I'd like to say this: I know we certainly won't get this feature, but it would be cool if any FX set to not spawn at the start could slowly "fade" so that it wouldn't suddenly be nighttime or any other time of day.
maybe have it set normal, then go to juicy or gloomy then both, then purple. but you couldnt despawn the other ones =( ha
No, what I mean is this: In Halo 3, if the only FX on your map was Gloomy and you set it to spawn after 10 seconds, the map would look normal and then at 10 seconds, BAM! It's Gloomy. In Reach, it would be cool if, at the 10 second mark, the game could gradually transition between normal and Gloomy. Ideally, an additional setting could allow us to determine the length of this duration. 1 second duration = a quite sudden transition to darkness, 30 second duration = a much more realistic transition to darkness.
Certain FX can make it look like nightime, sundown, etc. so you can make it slowly turn to night, not the opposite though
Just like a forge hubber being told Halo Reach isn't coming out. I hope the fx don't affect it too much. It would always be super blurry.
From the Comic-Con discussion the Bungie guys did, he showed effects that were called "Night", etc. So you will be able to create night. Just don't lose the fx ball!
I never thought about losing the effect ball, I had trouble enough finding it on sandbox... Would be nice if it was just a option in a menu rather than an object.
I know that there is a "delete all of these option", but it may only be accessible if you find one of many of an object and may not be accessible from the menus.
in a weekly update and on Halopedia it is confirmed that there is an FX called Night which makes your map night time so yeah its kinda official but kinda not
just put it in the colliseum, i put all of my FXs into the crypt each time i used them. cant lose them there.
Having watched that section to see the effects of their New generation FX the one he talks about is purple. Which makes the map look like this. All in all I want to mix and match the effect to make a foogy night look. Fun creepy infection games with that.
