Alright, so obviously, with the beta, we have used a handful of new and completely awesome (some too awesome) weapons, however, there are some that we have yet to get our little finger prints all over. That being said, which one are you looking forward to placing in the faces of your foes, pulling the trigger, and walking away the better (and less dead) man (or woman)? The DMR: "The M392 Designated Marksman Rifle is an air-cooled, magazine-fed, gas-operated select-fire bullpup rifle that fires 7.62x51mm ammunition. It takes a fifteen round detachable box magazine, similar aesthetically to the BR55. The weapon has a mounted optic capable of 3x magnification, and it possesses a fire selector switch located above the grip of the weapon. The M392 also has a magazine release button which is located directly above the magazine well, behind the trigger. The weapon has two ejection ports, one on the left and right hand sides of the weapon respectively, so that a left or right-handed shooter can fire the weapon. " The Grenade Launcher: "The M319 Individual Grenade Launcher, more formally known as the Individual Grenade Launcher, Caliber 40mm, M319, is a single-shot, break-action explosives launcher used by the United Nations Space Command, specifically the UNSC Army. Due to its simplicity, ruggedness, and firepower, it has been a mainstay weapon in the UNSC Army since its adoption in 2263, and has seen action in several armed conflicts during nearly three centuries of use, with the Human-Covenant War as the most prominent. It saw use during the Fall of Reach." The Target Locator: "The Target Locator is a United Nations Space Command piece of equipment, it is a compact, handheld laser pointer, designed for acquiring and designating targets for small-scale orbital bombardment from an orbiting UNSC ship. The Target Locator has a scope, and when the trigger is held down for several seconds, a green laser marks the targets, and a blue circle is projected on the ground around the targeted area. Once the target has been locked, several large blasts fall from the sky, doing a large amount of area damage." The Plasma Launcher: "This weapon is capable of launching up to four large explosive plasma grenade-like bolts at a single target, these can be fired individually or all at once if charged for a short time. The bolts track vehicles and bipeds in a similar way to the Needler. These bolts will continue to track even if the operator is killed, sticking to the target on impact. They also have a slight delay on them which makes the weapon capable of "Killed From the Grave" medals. It has an appearance slightly similar to the Fuel Rod Gun, as they are both Covenant heavy weapons." The Plasma Repeater: "The Type-51 Directed Energy Rifle/Improved (or T51 DER/I) is more commonly identified as the Plasma Repeater. This weapon has only been encountered very recently and only in very limited numbers. It is very likely it is either new to the Covenant arsenal or it is a branch specific weapon." The Focus Rifle: "The Type-52 Special Applications Rifle (or T52 SAR) is also identified as the Focus Rifle. This directed-energy weapon is believed to be battery-powered. The exact mechanism by which it functions is currently under investigation." The Needle Rifle: "The Type-31 Rifle (or T31 rifle) is more commonly identified as the Needle Rifle. It fires unconventional projectiles that are very long and very sharp—hence Needle rifle. The projectiles detonate several seconds after coming to rest in soft tissue." The Concussion Rifle: "The Concussion Rifle fires explosive bolts of superheated plasma, that produces area-of effect damage and a small "kick" to players and objects upon exploding. The weapon has been described as the Covenant counterpart to the Grenade Launcher. The Concussion Rifle's effects also resemble those of the Brute Shot, despite different appearances and modes of operation." All that graphic goodness aside, I personally voted for the Plasma ... Repeater. Although I meant to vote for the Plasma Launcher. The beeping, and the tracking, and the running into confined spaces because you don't know if your team or the opposing team has the weapon, it's all just so great. I love it!
I still want to know why the grenade launcher has been in use since 2263 when the game takes place in 2552. UNSC is spending too much money on Spartan technology and not enough on grenade launcher technology imo. That said, I so so so desperately want the DMR in my hands permanently, the BR doesn't even deserve to die in a fire, it just deserves to be forgotten and never spoken of again like the abortion that it is.
Definitely the Grenade Launcher. The DMR feels amazing but I've never used a gun as fun as the GL before.
Tie between target locator and concussion rifle. I've seen very little of both, but they look amazing.
LOLZ. It should be taken for a "drive". Then we take it out, let it look around, a BOOM! We 4-shot it in the head!.......Oh wait.
Just my thoughts I believe that the DMR is a good gun, but i think we should give credit where credit is due and seeing how we got to try some of the weapons out in the beta their are still some weapons we have not yet heard about. so all I am saying is i think we should chose different weapons than ones we have tried and tested. thank you
I have been thinking of air-strikes for halo ever since I played halo 2, Which is why I chose the target locater. Next on my list would definatly be the grenade launcher and then comes DMR. Grenade launcher+unlimited ammo+endless clip+endless grunts=epic win
I was going to say Plasma Launcher because I loved using it and it been used on me. I got a triple kill across the invasion map once using its scope and I could easily dodge there bullets. But now since its been nerfed and people have been buffed I'm worried it will be fairly useless. So I'm gonna say Target Locator because It looks fun and is a completely new concept to halo games.
In the two weeks of playing the BETA, I still could not work out which I prefered between the Needle Rifle and the DMR. When playing Swat, I would switch between the two every time i died. On the poll I choose the target locator as I do not wish to pick weapons I have already used. However the Focus Rifle and Plasma Launcher were my two favourite weapons in the beta.
Only 2 for the Needler Rifle? Really? That's the best gun! I prefer it to the DMR because I like the fact if you get two or three guys with it you can just destroy the enemy team if your shooting the enemies together. With the DMR you almost have to headshot. I am pretty sure the Needler Rifle takes one more shot over the DMR but it can exploded needles, I think it's more accurate, and it shoots faster.
I'm surprised that the plasma launcher has no votes. That gun is super fun(horrible rhyme). For me it was a close call between the concussion rifle and the DMR. DMR wins...
