map idea for all you campaign fanboys.

    okay, this map idea has been in my head since legendary map pack, but it could never be done untill september 14 when forge world is alive.

    the concept is simple; remake one of the missions from halo 3 and blend it with a fitting gametype for the map.

    in this case, it would be the mission "the covenant".

    whoever decides to make this map is going to have three HUGE lucky breaks with the creation and design of it.

    1. the geographical layout is perfect in forgeworld for this kind of map. to make the three towers in which the attacking team will have to controll will work perfectly. if you look at the campaign mission, you will see that bungie made the level divided by the giant cliffs in which the towers are located on. once you activate the third tower, you proceed to go over the rocklike barrier to get to the citadel. the cliffs dividing blood gulch from the ocean is perfect for this. you can make the towers on top of the cliffs, and then make the citadel somewhere at one of the ends of blood gulch.

    2. the gametype "invasion" is practically demanding this map be made. you could organize it so that the uhhh... 'hill?' in which you must be in to capture the territory would be located at the top of each tower. once you take onne tower, the tower to the left of it is the new objective territory. once oyu complete all three, the tunnel like entranct to the citadel will open up and you and your team duke it out in the gulch with all the cavalry each team oculd ever want. respawn times for the vehicles at this part of the game would be set to never, and once each team has run out of vehichles, the defenders fall back inside the citadel and defend the core or whatever it is. the scoring zone would be located at the very end of the hallway, so when you score it, it would be simulating or imposturizing master chief dis-arming the halo array.

    3. the map was designed with forrunner objects, and may i mention plenty of them, so you will not have any trouble creating the towers and the citadel without running out. (may be reccomended to donwscale the citadel a bit.)

    this map combined with the gametype would be nearly identical to the campaign mission and would be a good blend of closequarters, competetive combat in the towers and citadel, and would also support epic, armored vehicular warfare in the part when you and your team are storming the citadel. one more note is that the game would have a time limit of around 15 minutes. but that could change depending on how actual gameplay works out.


    so, anyone up for this remake? and i would be more than glad to help, but i dont have the time in the schoolyear to make it myself. but please, i am looking for more experienced forgers to make this, so let me know if your up for the job.

    one more thing, im not just asking for replies for conformation you want to make it, but also let me know if its a good idea or what you think!

    This sounds like a pretty awesome idea. I would definitely like to attempt to build something like this. I think it can be done.
