Water Vehicle In Halo: Reach? What do you guys think the possibility of this is appearing in reach? Bungie has * said that this game is their last Halo game and is their "swan song" to the series, so why wouldn't they have this in the game? They have thought about it before with the Doozy in halo 2 I think that was. What really got me thinking about this seriously was the recent Forge World ViDoc (****ing amazing by the way). This is because it looks like maybe half of the map is water. I aware that Bungie knows that Forgers can use the space to forge in, on, * or above the water, but it seems that it's just such a huge space for the only vehicles to go about it are the banshee and falcon. So what I am asking of you fellow Forgers are these questions... 1. How likely is is that a water vehicle will appear in Reach? 2. An amphibious vehicle? 3. Assuming there is one, is it human, covenant, or possibly one for each side? 4. What cool names would these vehicles have. There will not be water vehicles in Reach. /thread There's just no point for water vehicles. There's only shallow water in some places, and the deep water will kill you if you go in it.
You could forge a boat and pretend... wait, thats an awesome idea! Territories on a load of pirate ships!
The closest you are going to get is the ability to use those massive forge objects to set a floor just a foot below the surface of the water and drive hogs on it. Writing in physics and everything for a new vehicle is a non-trivial task and would clog disk space and console memory. Remember the answer they gave for why there are only 4 scorpions on Forge World? The thing costs a ton of memory because it has so many more "points of contact" with the ground than any other vehicle. Now think of how much worse that would be for a boat.
another thing to do is have falcons and banshees and have a shield door above them, forcing you to skim the water like a hover craft
That would be awesome, just for forge. The ultimate dday map. Another thing- how big is a one way door? What if you used 1 way doors and put them underneath the water to hold warthogs up so it looked like they were floating. Or do I have the wrong idea?
just put a death barrier a little above the water and give them Falcons, then they Have to go under water!
There will be no water vehicles. It would be so impractical, considering that you die if you are submerged in water. Perhaps someone will be able to forge a moving raft of sorts. Until then, the only definite water vehicle will be the wooden palette.
This, And dingy's aren't gonna be in Forge world since there a civilian vehicle and there is no civilian vehicle's in Forge world. So lets hope there in anther map.
Dinghy's aren't vehicles at all. They're just an aesthetic piece. (assuming that it's no different to Halo 3)
For all we know, Reach might be designed so that nothing floats in order to save processing time or something like that.
Are you guys forgetting about the Ghost? That can go over water. Its not really a boat but I guess it could be considered an amphibious vehicle.
it would be cool If they made and amphibious warthog! i doubt that there will be water craft unfortunatly
Bungie stated that there will be no water vehicles in Reach. Deep water is fatal to Spartans. End of story.
