It's not as simple as just replacing textures. The objects are modeled with multiple layers of textures and unique polygon sets. While it would be cool to have other styles it definitely would be a huge task to accomplish. There's still hope for other themed maps. As for moveable objects, they're incredibly taxing on the engine. Think about it like this, a moving objects is a series of changing polygons, so every frame is a unique polygon, and you'd probably need at least 20 objects for 1 mobile objects. I prefer more scenery to moving objects.
more likely, i bet that not the first DLC, but the second, will have Forge World part 2, with a different texture set and map
You would certainly hope so. I have my faith that Bungie will do us well, lets all just wait and not get ahead of ourselves here.
I dont understand how we havent even played the game and people are already complaining about the lack of look diversity like they are already bored of it. I like the forerunner look, but yes it might get a little old after a year of forging on it and by then there will be a dlc
im fine with just the forerunner architecture. its the best of any option. its versatile, clean and fairly simple, but it also looks good. id rather have it than human or covenant objects.
Folks, your forgetting something. In this one map you have atleast two looks you can make. They do have rather large rocks you can make so cave maps will be more realistic.
True, but surely you cannot create a full map out of rocks? There's only so many, after all. Not that I have a problem with this, as we've coped with brown for almost 10 months, and I personally like forerunner tech, colours, and style.
We've been forging on Sandbox for a year now, haven't we? And Sandbox's items are less diverse than Foundry's objects! So quit your complaining.
There may not be that many true, but hae o seen the size of some of them? And the shape of others? Not to mention there are caves built into the default map geometry. Adding on to those won't be to hard.
Are gonna be able to forge on maps that won't be in ForgeWorld? Not saying I will, I is just kurrious
if your worried about variety beyond the same old forerunner stuff its not limited to just silver and blue it can be silver and red/green/etc. for a lot of the items so while thats not a huge change it will spice things up a bit
I've just finished scooping up my asploded brain, and i've thouhgt of some things: Can we make weapons change player stats? E.g, make it so that you can't move w/ a sniper (so you have to use it like a turret) or slow you down with a heavy weapon, for realism (yes, i know they're spartans, but it would be a nice addition) Do we get equipment? I really enjoyed the idea of the forerunner sentrygun in the halo3 campain, and was really disapointed to find it wasn't available in forge. Hopefully, it will make its return (Or maybe guardian sentries, like the large ones on snowbound!) And can we have three simultaneous objectives? i was thinking a two teamed KOTH, with 3 simultaneous warthog hills, so the teams have to constantly controll 2 or more. anyway...I CAN'T WAIT
Will there be another Forge World? Like, one that changes it it up a bit. In a year or two, people will start getting bored of the green and silver.
1) pretty sure thats not in 2) no 3) i dont think so, but maybe. that does sound pretty cool probably. obviously, thats a bit in the futute and bungie has dodged questions on that
Do we know if the big wheel in ascension will still spin? If so, I have an awesome idea, for using it in a different situation all together.
Consider it apreciated. --- From what I saw in all the videos, I don't think so. I didn't see it moving anyway.
It doesn't move. It was made by forge objects, so no, and there are no interactive objects Bungie has announced. My question is if all those maps come standard as map variants, and if we can delete them or not.
They are standard, and no, you cannot delete them. They're preloaded on the disc, and will be used in Matchmaking as if they were all different maps not on Forge World.
