Do you think Reach forge is just too easy?

I myself, still prefer Halo 3 to be honest. Reach forge to me will just be way to easy to enjoy. I guess I'll see in September.

While i agree with you, think of the possibilities we have just been handed. We can create maps so amazing that Halo Reach may never die. Bungie has created the ultimate game: One that keeps growing even when they dont have anything to do with it, one where the people who play it also make it. One that can self-sustain for an incredible amount of time. Nothing built before compares to what this could be. Its outstanding.

It will take some testing to see if it'l be easy or not though.

Hell no. I remember before Sandbox came out, the same thing was being said. We have a huge pallet, and amazing amount of options in Reach, creating so much variety its ridiculous.

What I believe is now alot of people will be able to make great architecture, but now the main thing people will experience trouble on is gameplay. Spawns, weapon placement, objective placement, etc. will judge how successful a map will be. You can have a sweet looking map, but it could have the worst gameplay ever.

Bungie's next game will ship with their Dev Kit, so no.

But seriously, make forging a map easier. It doesn't matter if you can make a map in half the time with less stress, if you can't design a good map, it's not a map, it's crap.

You make a map to play it. Being able to build it faster is a good thing.

If you want the building process to be so time-consuming, go be a civil engineer.

I think the building process should be time consuming. I mean, to be honest, I hate ghost merging, it's too easy. Now this, I must say no thanks

If you want to make the same map in twice the amount of time, be my guest. It's your time wasted, not mine.

First off, chill out. Second, it's not like I'm gonna pass up the options bungie's given us, it's just that forge won't be as fun as it was

    GTFO.

Map making is about design, not about tedious hours of repetitive, maddeningly imprecise work. If you really enjoy repetitive, maddeningly imprecise labor, I suggest you start up a new hobby like mining for coal.

That's never what any of these topics are about though. They're about feeling superior to the people who don't know how to do glitches or aren't willing to spend the weeks of work to get a halfway decent map. Pure elitism, at its worst.

The thing that really makes a good forger is his design and his ideas, not knowing how to use his tools correctly.

    Coal mining lol.

Elitism is a little extreme bro. I enjoy tedious work. I guess I'm the only one that does. I'm sorry if I came off as being an elitist by asking a simple yes or no question

Sorry, a lot of that is leftover rage from this exact thread happening twice before. I know you probably have the best intentions and you aren't lying about enjoying Forge how it is. I just get frustrated when people appear to believe that the difficulty of creating something makes it better.

yeah idk what you are talking about. Even though the forging is going to get easier forging-wise, it is going to get much, much more harder. More space, items, and more money in the budget means bigger, better maps. The competition level is going to dramatically rise. So yes, it is going to get easier, but at the same time it's not.

I think its somewhat easy, problem is that what ideas will I use. Halo:Reach will be fun for me. Im just gonna screw around. Just imagine the Map Packs. If Forge World is big. Wonder if theres any other World besides rocky mountains. To me Forge World Looks alot like avatar without the floating mountains.

I said it over and over again, those of you who fear that Reach forge becomes too easy are selfish attention whores. With the confirmend possibilities given in Reach, everyone can forge, but not everyone can design a Map, there will still be a difference between a Fritzster MLG Map and a Map by some guy who forges when he's bored. Map Design is not about what you can do with a Map Editor/Creator but how you do it.
You might be scared, but that's pointless, with Halo Reach we will have a incredible amount of Maps on FH, if you now think "everyone is able to forge, bawww", think of ways to stand out from the masses and be more creative, with Reachs Forge you can be, since I see no limitations now.
