    Unsettled is my first map I'm posting on forgehub, so I hope I do it right and write proper english :p


    the map is completely symmetrical.
    Unsettled itself is based on midship/heretic, but it has my kind of flow in it.
    it has 2 small bases where you spawn at the beginning of the game, and 2 HUGE kind of bases in the middle with a bridge between them.

    there are 6 ways to get off the floor: you can go to the bases and jump up, or you could use the slide thingys I interlocked into the huge bases to slide up.

    Unsettled can be played with the following gametypes:
    Team Slayer
    Multi Flag.
    Team Oddball
    Team King of the Hill.

    Quick review from a forge through.

    Balance -
    Everything looks okay other than the middle area which has some quite overpowering weapons. If a team were to get the bridge they most likely will overpower the other team very easily with the rockets, carbines & sticky grenades. I would get rid of the carbine leaning against the wedge huges and swap it for the BR laying nearby, I would also move the other carbine to the wall underneath the custom powerup.
    Durability -
    The map did not look escapable if you were to be playing in a game but I was able to get out of the map in forge by making my way onto the tube pieces and grenade jumping out to the side wall. I would be careful about the walls which enclose the maps as well, they aren't very straight in some areas which can provide a ledge for anyone trying to escape the map, always be careful about little ledges! :p
    Spawns looked okay, but with a map that size I expect there would be some easy spawn camping, I would add some more spawns which are in cover.
    Aesthetics -
    The map was quite nice aesthetically. I loved the jump up to the bases which were on each side, although they don't look that great with the green tin cup sticking out slightly of the ramp short. I also liked the gold columns which covered the lower half of the ramps which lead up to the mid from both sides, although there was some tacky forging on one of these ramps. The tube pieces also make the map look nice but they do block of some line of sights, which could be good in the case of there being more cover for the spawns, but you could recover a lot of budget from these pieces and use that money to provide cover, so LOS across the map isn't taken away.
    Originality -
    The maps layout wasn't very original at all, it is quite a basic design which lots of MLG maps on foundry are based on; This will lower the originality factor. When making your next map, I suggest thinking long and hard about a design which will be very original but still fun to play.

    Enjoyment - N/A
    Balance - 5/10 - Average
    Durability - 4/10 - Below average (Fix the map breaks)
    Aesthetics - 7/10 - Above average
    Originality - 4/10 - Below average (Basic generic design)
    OVERALL - 5/10 - (Based on enjoyment being 5/10)

    Tips: If something doesn't look right, fix it. It may be annoying to do, but JUST DOO EET!

    thanks for your review ben, but I won't be able to edit anything ATM because my TV cabled burned somehow when I forgot to turn it off(StupidMe)..

    I could switch the rocket launcher with something else like a sniper with only 4/8 bullets or just keep the rockets with 2 rockets. the carbine idea is also pretty good.

    the tubes we're because of blocking sights, because the map is way too open without them IMO.

    about the cover, I could just delete the tube ramps as cover and put some wall corners, but I have to take a look if the map might be escapable if I change that.

    I know the map is not very original, but it was not meant to be original.

    too bad my parents won't get a new tv fast, so I won't be able to edit some stuff.. (sadface)

    No problem, but as I said, you can recover plenty of budget from the tubes which could be used for more useful cover. I also forgot to mention, the two columns on either side which are in the bases should be sunk into the base so that you can shoot over the top of it without having to jump on top.

    & Gl with getting a new tv. You should have a screensaver on your xbox if you using a plasma tv (I think that's what you are using :p)

    I was already thinking of that, but I forgot to.
    thanks again, for reminding me about the columns.

    BTW I really hope I'll get a new tv(the dead tv is like 10 years old or older XD)..
    I'm getting sick of the smell of burned plastic :'S

    The map look super clean and neat, being your first map, this is very impressive of a job.

    The only thing that concerns me is the amoutn of cover given on the map, in some areas, it just seems too open.

    I know it's kind of open, I'll try to fix as much as possible and when I can continue on friday I might finish the v2.

    what I'm planning to update now.
    - make it able to shoot over the columns at the bases.
    - swap the tube ramps that provide cover for corner walls.
    - hopefully fix some bumps.
    - fix the tin cups sticking out.
    - find a way to keep the rocket launcher balanced or swap it for another power
    weapon or maybe a camo/OS/costum powerup.
    - add some more cover.
    - find a way to make the map unescapeable.

    any more ideas? it would help me alot :D

    Peloquin is right. It looks really neat though it could be improved in certain zones. But it's a really excellent job for being your first map.

    about the zones that need to be improved, I will be updating the map friday or saturday and maybe post it if I have time to. read the post above to see a list with what I'm planning to update.
