It can be frustrating how foundry seems to force angular, industrial looking shapes onto any map made there. I wanted to get as far away from this “boxy†feeling as possible. Going into this map, I had something very organic in mind.

Ok, first, the best part of this map, the palm trees.

There are two of these guys, each equipped with exploding coconuts. The way I’ve got the coconuts set up; a shot from the AR knocks them down, hitting anyone below the tree, shoot it with a BR to hit enemies hidden in the leaves.

Let me get the worst part of the map out of the way, the beach. At the time I thought using shield doors as water was pretty clever. But now that I’ve looked around this site I see that it’s nothing new. Oh well.

Behind the palm trees is a giant brown tree, sporting three extra large leaves. Jump from leaf to leaf to scale the tree like you would a winding staircase.

To the right of that is the light house, up top you’ll find a Spartan Laser, use its light to guide ships into port (and then destroy them).

Jump behind the lighthouse to find an entrance to a small cave.
    Hidden Ghost!

Surrounding the water are some caves, which make a kind of “h†shape. I can’t stand the long boring hallways that the open crates almost force you to create, so I made a hidden exit near the middle of the caverns. Move a barrel to find…
    [IMG]
    Hidden beach shack exit!

Next to the shack is a tiki bar.

Next is the cargo ship, hauling some crates and a warthog.

If you search the side of the ship you’ll eventually find some wooden boards, destroy them to get inside the ship, then shoot the fusion coil inside to find…
    [IMG]
    Hidden exploding exit!
Also, the Warthog has a little bit of set path that can be followed. By driving straight, then turning right, and then correctly hitting two jumps, you end up on top of the Ghost cave.

Last is a plane. This sky high view of the beach allows you use the mounted turret to ruin everyone’s vacation.

To get up here use the smoke stack at the end of the cargo ship (man cannon).

That’s the map. The defining characteristic of it would definitely be the two palm trees, they connect the entire map together. You can go from the trees to the cargo ship, or to the beach cliffs, or onto the large brown tree, and even up to the top of the lighthouse. Wherever you want to be on the map, you’re only two palm tree hops away.

Only set up to support slayer and team slayer. And let me say right now that none of my friends who play Halo are really into the game enough to test a map with me, so this map has never seen any play. Despite that, I think that it’ll make for an interesting game of either slayer or team slayer.

It looks quite decent. Although I think the boxy feeling still remains. In fact it looks all boxy. Maybe use merging with geometry and also use more interlocking.

This map confuses me too much. I'll have to DL to see more

Thanks for all the compliments so far.
When I first made this the only forge maps that I had seen were random maps I would download after big team battles, most of which were either mazes or giant rectangular fortresses. So at the time I thought my map was pretty organic looking.

But after looking around this website a bit more, and seeing the amazing interlocking techniques used, I see now that my supposedly “organic” map is really very boxy.

And honestly, the problem I ran into while making this map was lack of building materials. Because I decided to make the map so big I had to spread out the different building pieces, I didn’t have the resources needed to give the map the natural feel I had originally intended.

If I ever remake this map I’ll definitely make it smaller, that way I can actually create nice looking slopes and curves.

i have to give you props on the interlocking it looks real nice. i also like the beach but not the best maybe if you added more sheild doors to add to the watery effect. it also may look more like a beach if you turned the bridges upside down. but the map still looks peatty good.

welcome to forgehub. i see your interlocking is pretty good and i'm somehow astonished that you were able to make a cargo ship, lighthouse, shack, a plane, a beach, caves, palm trees, and a giant brown tree in a single map. great job it looks like fun

well i played the map by myself.. i thought it looked pretty fun and well built. the man cannon was a little hard to use.. and i broke out of the map once from the box atop the sniper spawn(or the one the sniper is leaning on). but you had a magnum and a grav hammer up there and it made me wonder if i was supposed to be able to break out. also, finding the underground tunnel system was a major wow! i found it halfway through the game and its really sweet! good job. 4/5 cause it was easy to break and some things didnt really fit perfectly

Wow this is really good stuff. I gotta say, thought, tropical paradise in an ugly ass warehouse? The inherent atmosphere of Foundry is the exact opposite of tropical paradise. Hey, though, that is beyond your control. You did great, I'm really liking some of the ideas you brought to life. Imagination is key.

    Again, thanks for the compliments.
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll see if I can find a box somewhere on the map that I can move to block that exit.

The magnum and hammer are actually up there because I used the infinite money glitch. I didn’t want to delete them and lose the possibility of ever having those two weapons on my map, so I just moved them out of the way.
