Basic Description: I'm not sure if this has been made yet,but here is a deploy-able bridge that I just made. This switch uses a button that you simply walk into to activate, but can also be modified to use a RB switch.Everything in this switch can be changed to anything else (excluding the mechanism). This switch has a 100% success rate, but the quality of the bridge varies slightly. From the time you activate it to the time the bridge deploys, approximately 5 seconds go by.Now....on to the pictures. Pictures: Overview The Switch The Bridge Deployer Teamwork Across the Chasm Cleaner Version In the cleaner version, deployment time is approximately 8 seconds while the quality of the bridge is very consistently good.It is also a RB switch with a 100% success rate. Link: DB Switch In reply to RittSea,I have made and tested a deployable bridge suspended two blocks high in crypt. As you can see from the picture,it does use teleporters.I had to make a few changes to accommodate the teleporters. One of the changes is that instead of 2 walls,it now uses 3. The Mechanism As you can see,the only thing that has changed about the mechanism is the position of the mongoose. Tele-Bridge As you can see from this picture, the invisible death-barrier of the skybox has been replaced with teleporters. The Bridge This is what the bridge looks like after it has been deployed. This bridge has a 100% success rate, although the quality of the bridge can vary slightly. From the time it is activated to the time the bridge is deployed, approximately 11 seconds go by. Credits go to RittSea for suggesting the use of teleporters for areas outside of the skybox. Link: DB Switch-Tele
That pretty cool how that work. I recommend you make a Gametype or Map out of this feature to give it a purpose.
so do the golf ball rolls down the tube into the end pallet and all the other pallets get sent across the chasm?... COOL
Actually,I'm currently working on a minigame featuring this and a few other switches. Yes,that is basically how it works. The end pallet can be moved anywhere, just as long as it is touching the end bridge pallet.
I can tell by your "across the chasm" picture that the bridge is directly on the "floor" of the skybubble, that is why it is floating. However, let's say I wanted to make a competitive map with a bridge design such as this. Let's also say that I wanted to build it higher up, and not directly on the floor. Would i have to use teleporters under the bridge to make it work? And if so, would it be a 100 percent success rate? I'm saying this because if someone was using this design on another map or on the middle tier of sandbox, it wouldn't be placed directly on the floor. it would be pointless. This doesn't mean that I don't like this switch, because I do. I'm just saying that not everyone is going to do a bridge on the floor of the skybubble.
I am not sure if it will work with teleporters.I'll go make the switch using them to see if it works and post my findings.IF it works,I'll add some more pictures as well as a download link to the teleporter version.Thank you for asking that question, because I wouldn't have thought of using teleporters.
Don't worry,I will.I'm glad at least one person is excited about a map featuring this switch.By the way,the name of the map is Switchcraft, and it is about 12% done. The map is going to feature many iconic switches, along with a few new ones that I haven't posted yet.
Your welcome, but thank you for answering my question . I'll be sure to check up on this map in a bit to see if the pics are posted Edit: Oh shoot! I didn't even realize that you already posted the new pics!!! That was fast!!!
I was eager to see if it would indeed work,so I hopped on my x-box,made one,and posted the results as soon as I could.I also like to answer questions as fast as possible so that people aren't waiting a long time for answers.
Well that's awsome. Many other people that post questions don't even recieve answers from the map poster until about two days later, and they're usually too lazy to go to their xbox and fix any problems for about a week, so good job! lol
It is good, but it does have some flaws, one being you can only use it once and another being that it has exposed components.
