Check it out, it may be a bit laggy at first, but once you get all the images in your chache, it's awesome. 40 images, random upon rollover, random upon rollout. Also, there are three coloured ones that say "noxyrox" try to get all three (one of each colour) to display simultaneously, it's harder than you'd think.
i don't know whats going on... they keep changing colors n ****... like they were meant to do that or something
That is really cool. I have to say, though, that you shouldn't have used the .PNG filetype for this... The images would be best compressed as .GIF files with 4 colors (you could get the filesize down to a few bytes if you make that change). Then the images would load a lot faster, so there wouldn't be the odd delay from images loading in.
It'd be cool if all I didn't see was dark aqua slate colored boxes...and they loaded lol... Cool idea though I like it.
...Why did I use PNG? I'll redo them all to be super-compressed jpg's later tonight, thanks. Well, when I re-format them all, you'll have to try again, it'll load quicker.
I dunno, just wait, i'll update it and hopefully it'll work better for you. EDIT: Defy, I was testing saving one of them as a GIF with 3 colours, and the filesize ended up being larger than the current PNG filesize. Thoughts?
Wait, a compressed .GIF with 3 colors was larger than the .PNG??? That doesn't make sense... Can you post one of your original .PNG frames so I can try compressing it? I don't know what else to say... EDIT: I just made a 100x100 px solid red square in PS and compared the PNG and GIF filesize, and gif was 500 bytes, png was over 1.5 kb.
I got Noxyrox all three times, on the three times you posted. just scroll over all of them fast and they're the same.
Hmmm... maybe I'm not compressing it correctly.. I'll mess with it a bit more. That's because your mouse goes over them so quickly they "load together", just the way it works. However, If you're trying to do what I said with it, I said to get all three different colours, not just one.
Still, all it does when i mouseover is lag up a tiny bit. It isnt working for me!!! D: BTW, by random chance i got three noxyrox all on the same load
Alright, I could not for the life of me figure out how to directly optimize GIF images in CS5, so I resorted to some free online thingy, regardless, it worked. All images are now 4-colour-GIF except the 'noxyrox' ones which had to be 64 colour. Does it work for you now Yoyo?
Ugh.... It doesnt. I guess my comutor is just being stupid, normally mousover stuff works for me but it doesnt like you apparently.
Save for Web. It opens up a large screen that allows you to fine-tune all of the settings for the saved image, including the number of colors, transparency, dither, etc. and it lets you preview multiple versions at the same time. Edit: The load time is significantly improved
