I've gotten to the point in my summer where I am bored with most all of my games... I'm looking for a new game to play. However by new I mean new for me, not new entirely because I don't want to spend $30... Also, I'm more interested in an RPG that I can get in to, not another shooter or racer... So basically what I'm asking is what RPGs (for the 360) would ya'll recomend? I've played Morrowind so much that I am sick of it. Oblivion is a maybe, the whole thing about the world leveling with you turned me away... Any ideas?
Mass Effect Fable Fallout 3 That's all I've got. There isn't a very large library of RPGs on the 360.
I'd prefer to not do turn based battle... I loved morrowind when I played it so anything similar would be great. Oblivion just doesn't seem like it'd be as fun. I'm leaning to fallout 3... If only TESV was out... BT what does the J stand for?
JRPG - Japanese Role Playing Game (Final Fantasy, Lost Odyssey, etc.) I would highly suggest Mass Effect 2, it is one of, if not the (Tales of Symphonia is actually THE best if you still have a Gamecube or a Wii), best RPGs I have every played. Aside from that, I can't think of any non-turn-based RPGs that have come out recently. Have you ever played PuzzleQuest? PuzzleQuest2 just came out, and it is SOOO addicting.
Borderlands It's an FPS with RPG elements. More of an RPG than anything, but it's really an RPG shooter. It also has 17 and half MILLION guns. What more could you want? Other than that I would recommend Fallout 3. I've played on my friend's PS3, and found it very enjoyable.
Fallout 3 or Oblivion are both games that you can play for a long time without getting bored. Or if you want something NEW you could try that Blacklight game as that only costs like £12 but anyways back to RPGS. Red Faction Geurrila doesnt dissapoint the old red factions one bit , Dead Rising is good if your a zombie fanboy. Borderlands is pretty good but its quite hard IMO. And erm Fable is liked by most but I dont like it much.(im gonna get hated at for sayin that) So theres my recommendations
Shadowrun nuff said. You can get it for 5$ at gamestop. This is probably one of the best RPG shooters i have played. IT focuses on team work and is extremely competitive. Its 3 years old but still has a pretty hardcore following. If your interested you should also check out This is Shadowrun if your interested in getting really competitive. Also gamebattles just reopened the shadowrun ladders. Think of halo and world of Warcraft mixed with some counter strike elements. It is a bit like halo(more like reach tbh) but with RPG elements. You earn money like counter strike witch you use to buy upgrades.(reset each game) I really cannot explain it to you simply. Its 5$ so you really have nothing to lose and i think you wont regret it.
Knights of the Old Republic is a very fun RPG set some 50,000 years before the dumb movies and it has a very good storyline. It's a fun, long experience and is really cheap because its an old game. (runs on the 360) Good vs Evil choices, force powers, lioghtsabers, a fun combat system.
Mass Effect 2 is a good game, but the game itself is short and there isn't much replay value in the story or choices, the only re-playability comes from which kind of combat you would like to have. Again great story, but the re-playability factor was a turn-off for me. As far as reccomendations go, I highly suggest KotOR I and II. Great story, great level system and they are wrought with mystique that even when you reach the end of the game it still feels like you're character, as badass as they may be, only makes ripples in the universe. Plus, if you're looking into SWToR the MMo then these would be great to get you into the starwars mood next year. If you're looking for something that will absolutely nerve rack you then Dead Space is a great option. It's short as well, but the re-playability is a bit higher if you're an adrenaline junkie. Fallout 3 does not compare to Oblivion, but it does have a few moments of epic awesomeness and has the my favorite quest I've ever played. It doesn't have as much free range as Oblivion, but throughout the wasteland there is a lot of ****ed up things. So, if post apocalyptic worlds are you thing, then this is where you should turn to. Red Dead Redemption has a great story to it and comes with an alright multiplayer. You could try role playing online, but most of the time it turns into people just killing each other which gets old quick. I haven't tried the new co-op missions that have come out since, but price wise this probably isn't what you're looking for. Oblivion is the greatest RPG on the xbox 360, hands down. It also has the best downloadable content for any game (namely Sheogorath's realm). The only downside to the game is that you can make a Godlike character if you know how to use the leveling system to you're advantage, but you control how you play. I haven't played Jade Empire, but it operates in much the same way as KotOR and KotOR II does. So, I would assume it's a great game and it'll set you in an era much like mid-evil Japan. Plus, you can get it on the xbox live marketplace, no need for a trip to the store. It costs the same as any xbox original. Anyways, all are great choices with exception to Red Dead and, imo, Mass Effect 2. Personally, I'd go with Knights of the Old Republic, but it all depends what kind of mood you're in.
Imo, Oblivion is in the top 3 games of all time and if you've never played it I suggest you pick that one up. There are not many games out there that can provide you with more hours of enjoyment.
Yeah as far as RPGs go Oblivion would be your best bet, I must have spent 100s of hours playing it since its release. If your into a more light-hearted RPG you could always buy Conker Live and Reloaded, its an xbox original but it works on 360s.
For oblivion, could somebody give me some sort of opinion on the leveling enemies? I always loved in morrowind being a low level and walking into a dungeon with things that could absolutely rape me...
The enemies do get progressively harder, and new enemies appear as you get to higher levels, saying that though on your first play through you'll probably get raped by most things
Morrowind is easily the best RPG ever, but if you give Oblivion a bit of time it becomes addicting. I highly reccomend it, because it has some really epic moments. Especially along the main storyline, and the Nights of the Nine pack thingy that comes with it. --- Haha ive got all the acheivments for it.... And one character with over 250 hours 0.o
well since GOTY oblivion is only 25 at gamestop i might go for that... that has shivering isles and knights of the nine already. How much do the other dlcs cost? And for that matter, if I got regular oblivion would shivering isles and knights of the nine cost more than $5 total?
