Just completed all Ambient Challenges last night. Feels awesome, and the last couple hunting challenges are a blast. I can give tips on challenges if anyone is stuck.

While it is a very fun game, ironically the fact that it is not very frustrating means it is not as addicting as other games. 'Annoying' games compel you to play them to try and beat them in frustration. Also, I can never get into multiplayer for some reason.
You're basing the addictiveness of the game based on how frustrated you get? That makes no sense. The only reason games are frustrating is when objectives aren't clearly communicated to the player, the difficulty level is broken or simply too hard for the player, or the game is just plain bad. The reason it isn't frustrating is because the game is so finely tuned, and it isn't about challenging the player, but about immersing them in a living, dynamic world in which there are hundreds of genuinely fun activities to take part in. This game is one of the least frustrating, and at the same time, most addictive games I've ever played.
I'm trying to scrounge the cash to get it, in the meantime I've been playing at my friends. Holy **** is it fun! I could spend hours in free roam.
I rented the game, and after playing for an hour and learning I cant screw hookers or see boobs right away, I took it back early. Sorry you gotta get my interest first before i play your adult sandbox game.
I've been completing most of the ambient and master hunter challenges as I go along with the campaign, and I'm getting close to finally beating the campaign, which is awesome by the way. And free roam with 3-6 of your friends is pretty much one of the most fun multiplayer experiences ever.
My cousin is selling me the game for $50 once he gets each of us a copy. I've been wanting the game since the day it came out. I've watched videos of the free roam on Youtube, which made me want to play it even more. Hopefully my cousin will have a copy for me tomorrow, I'm sick of playing MW2.
I think I'll just leave this here. YouTube - Red Dead Redemption Playthrough Pt. 5 (Hunt for the Great Grizzly Bear) Its a nice video, the guy has some great subtle humor I really enjoyed. And he gets a bear.
I just got the game yesterday, it's very fun. I always get sidetracked while I'm doing missions The only dislike I have so far is how the dead eye makes the game easy, too easy at times. anyone wanna form an 8 person posse for the achievement?
I Lol'd at some of his commentary. He was funny at some points in that video. From watching the video I have one question to ask: Does every animal (minus rabbits and other little creatures) attack if you get to close to them?
no. deer do not, horses do not, buffalo do not, elk do not, coyotes do not usually, and bears and some others randomly run instead of attacking sometimes. wolves are really the only thing that consistently attack.
Okay, played it at a friends house. Loved it BUT... Same problem I have with GTA 4, the controls are too finicky. Presise movements are difficult (standing on the edge of the building without falling off yet far enough to shoot or at least throw fire bottles is nearly impossible even when not under fire. Then being shot at only makes you twitch. Standing too close to the edge of a bridge is disastrous for the same reason, compounded by the characters inability to swim in knee deep water. Also switching weapons is too hard to do in combat. I think X-play complained about this in some witch gun game and Rockstar should have learned the lesson from them. Pause it when you switch so your not killed doing something that should be easy. Finally you can't shoot through windows. mostly this is a problem of third person perspective though there are some bullet proof windows in places that would normally be nice to have a camped rampage in. So there's my rant. It's better for me than GTA4 control wise, but I'm still not sure whether I'll buy it. I'm going to college so I won't have an X-box, just a computer for "Work" (Fallout: New Vegas if my parents don't find out) and I haven't even finished GTA4 so....
I've not got it but my brother bought it and basically forgot about it so now I have it most of the time. I love the multiplayer and its basically all I play now, I just got to lvl 22 so I have the 4th horse Also anyone know which gun is best to use for the sharpshooter 4 challenge?(when you have to shoot someones hat off from a moving horse)
I've 100% the single player, and it's so good. The ridiculous killing sprees you can go on with the federal bureau outfit is, well, ridiculous. I've just shot up whole towns then leave with only a few vigilantes getting on my back lol So I guess that means, if anyone needs help 100% the game, then you can just ask here.
this game glitched, like, a hard glitch. It basically threw the game into a ghostly testing phase, all the character animations went all n64 graphics, i was stuck as wanted but nobody was coming after me, and all horses were floating among other things. In all this, it wiped all of my single player save files and everything i did. I was 94% complete. So, **** this game, im done with it. Shame, it was a fun game. On its way to be a favorite, but nope. ...
Hope that doesnt happen to me, im only like 80% done but ive almost got legend of the west outfit and I would hate to lose it, lol. Something I dislike about the game is that you basically only ride a horse, I know you can ride on a donkey as well, but can you ride on other animals or cars? I remember you driving in a car on a mission for that stupid guy in Blackwater...
