(The topic name is Halo Reach Forge to attract viewers by the way. Forgehub Forge wouldn't bring in as many users.) If Forge Hub could decide what forge should contain, then Halo Reach would become a huge hit. This is simple, I post what I think should be involved in Halo Reach forge, and then you post next what I haven't already posted. Don't forget to add a number beside it. Lets make an epic list NAO. 1. Undo(infinite amount) 2. Instant Respawn for a specific item and not for the other of the same object 3. Auto-float 4. Invisible barrier creating 5. Ability to pick up an item(such as weapons) in forge mode without it being on its spawn point 6. Custom Powerup settings in Forge(Click on powerup. Custom Powerup settings: Chosen by Forger, chosen by gametype, etc.)(This should also be sepcified in the gametype) 7. Map community(doesn't have to be on Bungie Favorites to be found; don't have to search all over Bungie.net.) 8. Item relations(such as a connection between the items in traps and tools without it getting lost.) 9. Gravity per area(certain amount of gravity for a certain area.) 10. Water. 11. Texture changing 12. Hiding an item(making an item invisible and quiet. This would help for button operated doors and such.) 13. Weather Conditions 14. Night and Day(evening, afternoon, etc.) 15. Adjustable FX(Blurry level, color level, darkness level, Color temp, etc) 16. Auto-kill on touch 17. Breakable but auto kill invisible barriers 18. Classes allowed or class creation 19. After certain conditions are met, an action triggers(not like the ones we can do now.) 20. Texture Edging and sharpening Who has 21?
21. Umm..... Noclip anyone? 22. Optional Rotation Snaps 23. XYX rotation and co-ordinate numbers that we can edit, allowing for much more accurate placing Edit: Waters damn cool, but its nearly impossible to do how i think you intend. It would have to be raised/lowered and kept at a specified level.
Those were implemented to reduce lag drastically, and while they most likely will be drastically increased, they will NOT be removed. That would cause too many problems with lag. Im thinking more along the lines of this; No budget, and no item specific limit: IE we can place as many double boxes as we want, as long as there is less than 700 total objects. /fail that would cause lag too...
^ In other words, no-clip..... 28 Scalable objects 29 Adjustable Sky limit 30 Aimed man-cannons like those on Narrows 31 Grass 32 Trees 33 Connected switches and items like the gate on High Ground 34 Rocks 35 Change the brightness of lights (or just change the room lighting itself) 36 Place-able Guardian Towers 36.5 Control area that Guardian Towers cover EDIT: 37 Ladders 38 Control power of lift IE. make one lift make you go reeeeeeeeaaally high and the other just makes you pop off the ground for a second Oh, and idea for the water: make different areas have different water levels.
41. Weather filters. They'd be the same as FX filters, and they should keep the ones in Halo already (Kent maek gud screenshots without Juicy and Gloomy).
This is incredibafuckinly hard to do, and it wouldnt be worth the amount of time requierd on Bungies part, or the forgers part. Bungie would have to go and add tens of tousands of lines of code, and create a map that had the ability to specify certain areas and name everything inside of them as a seperate world. I do know that it is possible to tile worlds, but to the extent of my knowledge adding a new world (and therefore a new water level to control) inside another world is an impossiblity. Secondly, even if it were possible how could there be any way for it to be easy to edit? Bungie would have to make a box similair to a spawn area, except with infinite distance on the Z axis and absolutly no rotational properties, a few more impossibilities, and then create a whole new set of everything that is available in the other one, cutting the total space you are allowed in half and causing untold amounts of lag, especially when transitioning between the two worlds. And thats just for having a second water level ability. Finally imagine all of the properties we would have to deal with in both worlds; we may have no-clip activated in one, but deactivated in the other, so how would that turn out? What happens when you take a no-clipped object and bring into a different world? A game ending crash is what happens. I could go on with this, there are thousands more reasons why this will never be implemented. Edit: I know mah editing!
41. Pre-destroyed vehicles or environment 42. roof, floor 43. dead bodies 44. interacting marines 45. music(halo only) 46. blood
47: custom power ups give you a certain load out 48: in making the game type you should be aloud to carry the objective and use your load out at the same time (maybe not armourlock)
49.Highlight and move. I hate it when I make a huge structure but want to move it slightly after testing but cant without restarting
50) A light sorce that doesn't go through objects, like the ones on the UDK. 51) Death zones, not Kill balls 52) Unclimbable terrain
Guys, please be sure to view previous posts before stating an idea. Highlight and move would be item relations, deathzones would be autokill barriers, etc.
53) Covenant Watch towers 54) Ability to change colors of lights instead of just blue and red 55) Covenant Turret 56) Be able to forge on firefight maps or make maps you've made into firefight maps
57: fully editable invasion maps including spawning areas (that you choose to spawn at), one way shield doors, shield barriers (that you can make disappear after a certain round, etc 58. No go zones, like the areas where you get a countdown from 10 before you die (but I guess these are basically just death zones)
59. Mixing gametypes. (If you look, Invasion is basically territories, territories and then CTF. I'd be happy if I could make it territories, KotH [multiple hills], one bomb, and then territories) 60. Covenant can only drive Covenant vehicles, Humans can only drive Human vehicles, etc 61. Breakable but immovable objects 62. Breakable items that don't leave pieces behind 63. Customizable drop pods (edit what weapons come out of them) 64. Background noise (Choose if you want guns firing in the background, etc) 65. Placeable AI (Choose if they attack you, help you, help a certain team, etc) 66. Only get into certain parts of vehicles (Driver only, gunner only, passenger only, none, driver and passenger, driver and gunner, gunner and passenger, etc) 67. Drive vehicles/ ride in vehicles with objective 68. Animals (like the space squirrel and porcupine they said they deleted from the game in weekly updates) 69. Edit textures of items (Make graffiti on walls!) 70. Security (Automated turrets that kill you, but you can destroy them) 71. Be able to make people 1000% speed, not just up to 300% 72. Place at start no and respawn time never without glitching
I don't think Bungie will do much for Forge, but who knows. Anyway, this should be on Bungie.net, not here, so Bungie can see it (although the game is almost complete).
