Rise is the first released map for the REGEN series of gametypes. It's initial design was mounted completely around Team REGENKing (formerly known as Team RS). The entire map is seen as very lobsided because the height variation from one side of the map to the other is very drastic. This tilts all gameplay and fields of view to one point in the map, The Bonus Zone. The Bonus Zone is a small hill in the centre of the map which gives players double points for every second they spend in the hill at the cost of their shields. As the BZ is in the centre of map and is the main attention area in the map, it proves to be a very tricky zone to actually hold. The unbalanced design of the map makes the map ideal for the REGEN King gametypes and very unique compared to other conventional map designs. A lot of people slated the map before playing it saying that it was too unfair, and after playing the map, they happily agreed that the design could hardly be faltered.... Wow, this looks really good, and then I mean official gametype good. I can see people calling this map unbalanced, but it seems it works in perfect tandem with the gametype. Tell me more about the needler being a power weapon though, because I can't really see it being more powerful than the br in a mostly shieldless gametype. EDIT: nice logo BTW
Nice. After watching the video on the Regen home page, I've been looking everywhere for this map. Lo and behold, the reason I couldn't find it was because it wasn't posted yet. XD ... So, this is Rise, huh? Well, I've just done a quick Forge-through and I've got to say, this is pretty darn impressive, even by Regen map standards. I can't really see why you would call the map "unbalanced", because it seems alright to me. Oh well. Congrats on the map, Steve. This map boasts some top-notch Gameplay. There was always something to do, whether it be killing, capturing, or simply moving around the map's beautifully designed structures. Spawns are also pretty high-quality stuff. Both Team and FFA Regen King caused no problems, and I never felt at a disadvantage because of where I spawned. I also like how the Hill itself is pretty exposed, but has a nice bit of cover right by it. Congrats on a Beast Map. Cheers, HarisSales.
You made this map and the gametype very well. It is not only original but also creative. The map is neatly merged with some very detailed areas. The amount of cover is great because then you can easily shoot at others while you are in cover and gain overshield. The gametypes are very interseting with lots of in dept details. It must have taken like an hour to create just one of those gametypes and testing them quickly to get it right. Due to the great looks and effort you have put onto these maps and gametypes I will give a 9.5/10 ^_^
Wow i remember testing this map Steve with ya i was the one you kicked caused i lagged to bad ha ha. i loved testing the map tho it was truly great fun then you kicked me. Anyway congrads on getting the map on forgehub
Hehe the needler cupercombines and can removed 2 layers of shields off in the space of times where someone can only fire 4 shots of br.. so if you already have overshields.. you'll jump straight upto 4x overshields and kill the other guy before he has chance to reload his br Thanks for your review, it's really nice to know this map is appreciated. I didn't expect it to get as much attention as it has done so early on. There'll be a good few more maps being officially released shortly as well as a map pack be out by at latest, the end of july. Thanks for your review. The gametypes were extremely intricate and actually took a good few weeks of testing, rather than hours. The initial first version took 2 days to create, then from there on, they were expanded, tested, expanded, tested, shortened, retweaked, tested, adjusted.. lol They've gone through a LOT of testing Hehhh sorry dude.. <3 It was probably me you couldnt connect to at the time, but I reallllllyyy needed testers at that moment so I could find out the kinks in the gameplay for both the map and the gametype. Orion by Metallica / Anyways i like how it Looks even the Needler being the Most Powerfull weapon and such wouldn't a Person camp in a Coner with a Sniper and Such but then again Nedler tie and i just Played it with my Friends and they loved it and i said it was You who made it so the Want to be your friend and all so they Rate it 15/10 and i rate it 10/10
It looks great (But not sure about "Revolutionary Gametype" in video as all you did, basically, was set shield vamparism on), although the pictures are a bit lacking. Try this:
Lol.. it is a revolutionary gametype because of how everything works, its not just shield vampirism.. it uses respawn traits, objective traits, CPU traits, Base players traits. That are all different and conflict each other to make this gametype so enjoyable. Anywayy... The map itself fits the gametype perfectly. You should give it a try sometime Launching a new video that someone else made for the gametype cause it's 10x better. But thanks for your constructive criticism
