The projectile should be able to fire. 2) The gun should be as close to real one as possible. 3) More innovative the firing system is the more points will be awarded. 4) This may be built on any map. 5) If there is a tie game play will be the determining factor. 6) I will not create a separate thread for submissions so feel free to ask questions here. What exactly do we get if we win said contest? Also, not to sound like a **** or anything but generally contests are left for mods to make. You being a trainee and all will most likely result in not many people generating any form of interest.
It is not really a contest per say, I am just want to see people attempt to built it is all. I figured you know if the mods, can make a contest why can't I. I am aware this will not get a lot of interest but I just thought it would be a cool map and I want to see people attempts to build it. The prize has not been decided but most likely it will be MS points.
The Lost Planet 2 railway gun was based of this famous gun from WWII. It was the largest gun ever built. It can fire a 5 meter long shell almost 100 miles. It is almost exactly the same in fact except for the fact that some of details and loading system are different. This gun has become and iconic super weapon in recent years.
I didnt really mean to sound discouraging or anything, I think its cool that your doing something that has always been left to mods, but its the same thing that happens when someone new tries to do a map preview. No one really takes notice because the person has nothing to really show for themselves so because of that it doesnt draw a whole lot of attention. If it isnt really a contest I sugest you remove that word from the thread and replace it with something else because some people can be pretty anal about stuff like that, which is why i was forewarning you.
First, There is nothing that says contests are up to the mods. Second, who says he won't get support because he is a new member. What are you talking about? The amount of feedback and support he gets is based on how interested people are. Do you really think all of us say "wow this contest is stupid because he has 30 some posts"? No. Obviously you don't know about this forum very much. Lastly, Why is everything you write in such flamboyant colors? Haha. --------------------------------- On topic. The contest sounds cool. I don't think I will be participating primarily because you have a low post count(kidding). But in all seriousness I haven't really been an aesthetic forger. You obviously didnt understand what I was saying. Lets say I decided to make a map post, and one of the mods did. We both have the exact same post but because the mods are more well know, more people will click on it since they recognize their name, thats all I meant by it. To answer your final question, I like colors.
I have nothing against colors! Haha. I understand that the mods get more attention just because they are well known. That is true with most things. However, the way you said it it made it seem like you thought he wasn't allowed to make a contest because he wasn't a mod. It is true that it wouldn't get nearly as much attention as front paged contest that insane made but thats not how it sounded. I apologize for misinterpreting. <3
Hey goop I didn't realize this was a contest. Thanks for PMin me about the map idea. If the 'contest' is still open I will definitely be an official entrant aka count me in. Expect posts in the map preview section first with updates periodically.
