Wait, so will games for the normal 360 work on the new? And will all games made continue to work on the normal 360's?
yes. Its not a new console altogether...its just a different design you could say. A different design that has the option to use kinect.
Nintendo's was the best 3DS actually looks promising and an improvement, loads of new game information and videos too Sony's was alright but not enough actual gameplay MS's was terrible, sure Halo, Gears and Fable were there. But we've seen it all before. Kinect sucked.
I was seriously expecting bigger/better things from Microsoft ... Kinect looks like a piece of ****. I hoped for a few really good reveals, like TES V or something similar.
I wholeheartedly agree. I played the Perfect Dark xbla remake, and realised sometimes it's better to leave the past in the past.
After reading the Sony conference, I can safely say they nailed E3 this year ... plenty of crazyness ... MotorStorm Apocalypse and Twisted Metal look mega awesome ultra. As does LBP2.
microsoft were **** once more. nintendo's been pretty irrelevent to me but the 3ds is pretty fancy, and goldeneye makes me zomg. but seeing as im buying a ps3 soon, yay sony
Well true. I assume that most Nintendo fans got everything they asked for, but it really does nothing for me since I don't own a Wii (or at least it's never at my house) and I assume most others on the site don't either. I didn't watch the conference, but with all the buzz and announcements, most people seem pretty happy with Nintendo.
I think Microsoft relies on their games to stand out from other consoles. I don't think they feel the need to have great hardware.
No I don't think it's that they want to shaft players with the hardware. You kinda have to dissociate Microsoft from Xbox a little bit to understand that it's the newest home platform franchise. It's done pretty well with respect to Sony and Nintendo which have years of experience on Xbox. They're still learning the ropes. They're still growing. I can't wait for the next generation of console wars. The only reason, I think, xbox has been as successful as it is, was because it was first. That gave the other gaming companies more time to improve what they had. So microsoft scored an early vlctory but they will probably lose the war unless they do something no one else can. I think they've got the best online experience, but ps3 is going to be a good contender in the next few years. Xbox has the best fps controller whereas the ps3 has a leg up for platforming and action games.
I've heard it was still being developed, maybe the info was false... No way lucas arts can do that. Battlefront is too much of a good game to be discontinued, surely Lucas Arts has a plan to release another installment soner or later...
I'm excited for ****ing everything. Even a couple of wii titles caught my attention, and I NEVER play my wii. (Kirby, metroid and goldeneye) LBP2 looked phenomenal. Gears and reach were oh my god unbelievable Socom looked good, as did KZ3, Crysis 2, AC Brotherhood, Portal 2, and even things that weren't at E3 look promising, namely the last guardian, the agency, and the like. Really impressed with this year's E3, big step up from last year's. MS's PC was a little disappointing, with all the ESPN stuff, and black ops didn't look much good. Ubisoft's PC was really bad, apart from child of eden at the start, looks a bit like geometry wars, which I loved. Gonna be an expensive, AWESOME year.
Nintendo definitely won E3. Their conference rocked. Xbox failed because it focused too much on kinect and it didn't impress, Sony showed some good stuff but the MOVE just looks like Wii 2.0 and you need glasses for 3D. Also games like sorcery etc are just autoaim which kinda disappointed me. Twisted Metal Looks awesome though. -e- Also, Portal 2, Deux Ex, Shogun2: TW, Brink and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light look kewl.
I was only impressed/interested by: MotorStorm Apocalypse Portal 2 Civilization 5 Twisted Metal LittleBigPlanet 2 Kinda lost interest in: Halo: Reach Gran Turismo 5
Even my Xbox has the option to use kinect and I have mine since December '05. The 'new' Xbox just has an extra port for Kinect, on older ones, you plug it in via USB.
I can't remember were I heard this, but appaerntly unless you have one of these new xboxs, you need an extra power source for Kinect.
